We are headed to San Diego for the Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association Conference. We drove through the Salt River Canyon at sunset on the way to Globe, AZ.

Love it.

Beautiful images that bring up long ago memories of going to the White Mtns in the summer from Tucson. And even longer ago I was a small child and my family was going somewhere and traffic was stopped here for what seemed forever for blasting that was going on to clear what became the modern road on which people now travel through the Salt River Canyon. Globe…this year I learned a 3rd GGF lived there in late life, and was known as a resident eccentric… 🙂
Hi Susan. Happy it brought back memories. It’s been 40 years since I’ve been through here.
Belle foto
Grazie, Simona.

Thanks, Tiffany. The southwest has such great landscapes.
Rather special grandiose shots, they make me and my life seem small. Then again, I am small. Cheers, Sir.
We have a lot of grandiose landscapes out here that make everyone feel small. Thanks, Inchcock.

Great shots! Haven’t been there in a few years but recall the light bouncing off the canyon walls onto the river making it look like molten gold.
Thanks, Teri!
