The Moon, Jupiter, and Venus lined up last night. Jupiter and Venus managed to shine through the clouds.
Only three nights left before Jupiter and Venus meet as they cross paths from our earthly view.

The Rio Grande is running high this afternoon.

We did not get rain last night, but there were flash flood warnings for Sandoval County. Obviously, there was a significant amount of rain and flash flooding to the north of us as the Rio Grande’s water level rose about 3 feet last night. It was receding this evening when I was out at the river.

The red strip of mud between the light-colored bank and the water is how high the river rose and then fell from last night to tonight. About 3 feet.
Speaking of Beaver Point, a beaver swam by, crawled out of the water, went up onto the bank and disappeared into the willows.
The Black-crowned Night-heron was out hunting on the river to the north of Beaver Point. It looks like it got a fish.
Clouds reaching out this afternoon. No rain on us.
Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.
4:17 am in the falling rain. There’s a planetary alignment behind those clouds.
I looked to the west and saw Wile E. Coyote laughing at me.
4:45 am. I can see the moon, Mars and Jupiter.
The alignment if there were no mountains, trees or clouds.

I got home late, so I got the sunset tonight.
The moon was still covered by clouds at dusk.

Daddy Owl Shopping for dinner
Laurie was out before I was, and got Peter, Paul, and Mary on the end of the Tangle Heart Tree.
When I got up to the Tangle Heart Tree there all three owlets were in the tree, but Peter was in front of Paul and Mary was sitting on the backside of the left-hand branch.

Jupiter rose a minute after Mars this morning. They were very close together. Stars in the early morning sky. The moon rose looking away from Venus.
