Owls call, hoots fall with the rain
Soaked by storm’s soft tears

Someone left the Jake out in the rain again
When Jake and I got home from our walk in the rain last night, the rain gauge showed 1.75 inches for the month. When I left for my walk at 5:25 this morning, the rain gauge showed 1.84 inches. When I got home at 7:00 it showed 2.0 inches. The rain gauge currently shows 2.71 inches of rain for September. It’s been several years since we received that much rain in one month. It’s supposed to rain Thursday and Friday, also. It seems Super El Niño may have finally arrived.

These rainy days have been so needed. Much to my surprise the rains have been slow and gentle, at least so far.
Dopel is adorable!
The steady rain has been nice. The plants really appreciate it. Doppel is such a good kitty. He is really happy to be inside, out of the elements. Thanks, Susan.
Wow – that’s a lot of fabulous rain. We’re about to have rain for the first time since May. A week of storms. Never does anything calmly here. Dogs really don’t mind the rain much, it’s the humans cleaning up afterwards that grumble 😉
We usually get violent thunderstorms, but fortunately, all the rain has been steady and rather gentle. I hope you weather the storms without too many problems. Thanks, Couriers.
Poor Jake looks as if to say…what was that?
Jake likes the rain; he likes to look like a victim of circumstance. Thanks, Shey.
I can almost smell the wet dog! So glad for the rain for you.
Surprisingly, Jake doesn’t smell bad like what I would associate with a wet dog. Thanks, Derrycats.
Fabulous photo captures as always…..poor Jake – he really looks like he would rather be cozy and dry. Our cat Teddy likes to be in the rain but doesn’t like the “towel rubdown” he gets when he comes inside.
Pam
Jake likes the rain. He gets all rambunctious in it. Marble likes to go out in the rain and then come in and try to snuggle. Thanks, Pam.
I imagine you’re happy for the rain. Jake not so much.
Jake loves being out in the rain. He just be the drama queen about getting a little wet. Thanks, Brad.
😁
We’re on a 5-day trip to a friend’s vacation house in Nederland, CO, and it’s been raining on the Front Range. It’s kinda nice after the “drought of the century”. It’s also nice to be back in the Boulder area. Another nice thing – unlike Montezuma county where we live, we haven’t seen a single “patriot”, co-called.
I would have liked this rain in July and August. But I’ll take it whenever we get it. Thanks, Joe.
I really like how you’ve framed that last photo.
The last shot is an uncropped panorama. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
Beautiful pictures, especially the last one. Is super El Niño supposed to also bring rain? I hope we will get lots too.
El Niño brings rain, la Niña takes it away. Thanks, Robbie.
Ah, I thought we were in the drought cycle worldwide. Thanks.
There are areas in the US that have been inundated with rain all summer. We really needed this rain in July and August, but it is what it is.
That last photo is amazing. Also, Doppel is a beauty.
He is. Thanks, Gigi.
Yikes, I’m almost afraid to ask for rain this season! I don’t know why I always laugh when I see Dopple, he’s just so cute!
Yayyy for rain.. you all seem happy as it was much needed.. xx
It’s nice to get rain. Thanks, Cindy.
I bet so!!! Most welcome! 🤗
The rain must be great for your plants and the trees!
Jake is hilarious, and omg! Doppel is starting to look entitled…as all cats do and are. Soooo cute!
Daoppel is really becoming a house cat. He’s eating cheese, lying on the old pizza boxes, and doing everything the other cats do. He’s one clever kitty. Thanks, Resa.
Hahahaha! Yayay…(eating cheese… LOVE)
Good news on the rain Tim … Jake looks rather damp! While Doppel just loves the camera
Doppel is a model kitty. Thanks, Julie.
