Not that we are getting a few thunderstorms in the evenings, the runoff turns the water flowing in the Rio Grande the color of chocolate milk. Inspired by the milk chocolate water flowing in the Rio Grande, I wrote and recorded a song of the same name and made it into the above music video.

The river was higher at dawn from runoff from thunderstorms north and west of us. By dusk, most of the water had receded.

Dawn (water). Dusk (mud).

The Snowy Egret that follows us around most mornings

Dawn

Almost sunrise

Dusk
Fun lyrics and song Tim, along with beautiful images.
Thanks, Brad. I’m waiting for Super El Niño to give us some relief.
Fingers crossed.
Beautiful photos!
Thanks, Ribana.
Ah today’s treat.
Chocolate is always good, me thinks. Thanks, Shey.
Oh you cannae whack it.
Awesome scenes and song. Just watched the video. Very cool Tim!
Thanks, Miriam. I happy you like the song.
Love the song…..LOL. Love the beauty of the skies, water and Mother Nature’s “art” all around you.
Pam
Natures cruel beauty. Thanks, Pam.
Ok, I’ll have a chocolate milk instead of an espresso this morning…
Chocolate milk with espresso is good. Do you remember ZZ Top’s “Rio Grande Mud” album?
I became familiar with ZZ Top with their Tres Hombres album and the single “La Grange”. It was a big hit in Europe.
La Grange is a great song about the Chicken Ranch house of ill repute. I really like “Just Got Paid” off of Rio Grande Mud.
Love the song, Tim!
Such beautiful photos!
The egret looks majestic!
The egret is beautiful and a character. I’m happy you like the song. Thanks, Becky.
You’re welcome ☺️
The video is lovely, Tim. The egret in the sun photograph is stunning.
Thanks, Robbie. The egret is a beauty, and a sassy bird.
What a brilliant video, Tim. I love how you synced the photos to the lyrics so perfectly. Thank you!! I will be coming back to view it again!!!
I enjoyed your video very much!
wow! I’m loving this !
So, the song came first, then the images?
Many of the images are contemporary with the song; others came first. I used several of the images in other videos I made before this one, but I haven’t posted those videos on my blog. Thanks, Geoff.
Haha, love the song Tim!! I like how you come up with so much creativity inspired by your nature surroundings. Great photos! 🎶💕
Thanks, Samantha. I’m happy you liked the song. Lots of nature around here to be inspired by.
Wow! Another amazing series.
Thanks, Cindy.
I love the photos and the song Tim, glad you’re still strumming!
Thanks, Tiffany. Strumming along.
Snappy rhythm, melancholic riffs, sad ending. Love the song and visuals!
We are in a sad state of drought. I’m happy you liked the song. Thanks, Cheyenne.
I enjoyed the song… checked it out on Youtube.
Beautiful shots, thank you, Tim!
Thanks, Resa.
Let’s hope that chocolate water is from the mud ha. That egret is going to get those purdy white feathers all dirty.
Mostly mud. Surprisingly enough, the egret keeps himself clean. I haven’t seen him the last two mornings. I saw 5 Great Blue Herons this morning. That is a lot for out here. Thanks, Brian.
Very cool rhythm Tim! Great pics as always …
Thanks, Julie.
