Jake and I were walking on the riverbed at South Beach this morning when a couple of coyotes appeared on the east side of the river and started barking at us. They had a lot to say. A few weeks ago, the three coyotes we often see on the west side of the river walked down on the riverbed with us to get a drink of water. They were silent, and did all their business like, “Don’t mind us!” Jake and I were standing about 25 feet from the westside coyotes.

Dawn

Dusk. We’ve had a little rain the past few nights, so the river is up a little from the runoff.
Thanks for the fun time of alerting my cat with the sound of coyotes, Timothy. Hehe.
Always happy to educate cats on coyotes. Thanks, Cheyenne.
Great video! They look healthier than ours.
Our coyotes tend to be healthy. Thanks, Cindy.
Such a wonderful surprise to find your post tonight. Bowie did not like the east side coyotes: “mom, I had just fallen asleep and you put that yapping on!” They looked young to me…
Once again, the actions of the west side coyotes demonstrated that you are a trusted Bosque inhabitant.
Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Give Bowie an extra squeezee treat for troubling him. The Westside Coyotes were following us around this morning. Thanks, Susan.
Great video of the coyotes doing their thing. They have quite a distinct howl don’t they!
Coyotes have a very distinct bark and yippy howl. Thanks, Miriam.
Always so good to see you in my Reader. 😊
Loved the video!
The coyotes do have a distinct bark and howl. And they look quite healthy.
Take good care my friend.
The coyotes are healthy. Thanks, Nancy.
That photo of an incredible dawn is beautiful……!
Pam
Thanks, Pam.
I’m glad you and Jake are making new friends. I’ve only heard them sing, not bark.
The Eastsiders didn’t seem like they wanted to be friends like the Westsiders. Thanks, Brad.
😄
I’ve been hearing some strange animal sounds at night that I think may be coyotes.
Could be. They are usually loud. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
What a great video! They really don’t seem scare of you and Jake☺️
They remind me of playful puppies.
Did you ever see that video where that girl showed her boyfriend her new “puppy” on FaceTime and it was a coyote!😅🤣
Coyotes are silly. I did not see that video. Sounds funny. Thanks, Becky.
Those eastsiders are a bit mouthy dontcha think. I played it for the boys and they said they would come down and put those miscretes in their place (mind you they like to talk tough from their comfy couch ha).
They thought they were pretty tough with the river between us. They might have changed their tune otherwise. Thanks, Brian.
LOL!
Love this Tim. I did not realize coyotes barked like dogs. Very adorable.
I don’t know what kind of sound I thought they made? Wile. E. Coyote sounds, I guess. Zoom, boom and kaboom… and other Acme related mishap noises.
Thanks for the vid, and the pics! xx
Looney Tunes didn’t get it right on either the coyote or the roadrunner. Thanks, Resa.
xx
Wow the relationship you and Jake have with the wildlife is amazing! Very beautiful
>
Coyotes were following us around this morning, also. Thanks, LS.
Spectacular shots Timothy!
Thanks, Kathy.
Beautiful photos. The barking scared my cat. LOL
Thanks, Gigi.
What a wonderful video of the coyotes. I love to hear them when they get going at night. It makes the hairs on your arms stand up. Beautiful dawn and dusk photos.
Coyote chorales are impressive, especially when you get them in surround sound while walking in the bosque in the dark. Thanks, Rebecca.
Beautiful coyote video. I’ve rarely seen and heard them at the same time. It’s usually one or the other.
They often sing in chorus. Three coyotes can sound like a dozen. Thanks, Donna.
