Dusk last night. Dusk tonight.
A flash flood this afternoon left piles of debris where I have been walking on the riverbed.
The temp was 101.1º F (38.39ºC) this afternoon before cloud cover brought the temperatures down.

Less than a half inch of rain in a month at your place and yet a flash flood? Who’s getting the rain?
That’s part of the dynamics. We live in a rain shadow from the Sandias to the east and the Continental Divide to the west. A staff member sent me a video of a downpour at his house yesterday afternoon. It was raining on the west face of the mountains, and some of the runoff from that downpour is what caused the flash flood in the river.
We’ve only had a smattering of rain. Supposed to be 109 degrees today.

101 is getting up there. Not the wall of humidity we have here, but still a shock to the body…hope Jake is able to shed his extra layers.
It’s been up to 104 last week and this week. The dryness does make it more tolerable. We’ve been brushing Jake to get extra fur off. He really likes the new air conditioner I installed. Thanks, Brian.
