“What do you mean, say I look like a dork!”

“Not only do you look like a dork! You look like a dorky duck!”

“Well! I never! Come on, Donald, we don’t have to listen to this lowly teenager insult us!”

“That’s obvious, given they have no ducklings!”

I enjoy your bird pictures, especially the ballerina duck. I read the Rio Grande may run dry in the next month. Does that happen very often?
Pics: 1) Post ride, Karen with Bebe in her lap, and our friend Susan who was a helicopter flight nurse out of Flagstaff Memorial Hospital for years and treated scores or maybe hundreds of head trauma patients. She has been a huge help, 2) Part of the nearby Boggy Draw trail system, elevation about 7,600 ft, 3) They are doing some thinning in the nat’l forest, but not clear cutting, 4) The high desert plants are just busting out in the front of our house. If you squint you can just make out the Abajo mountains in SE Utah.

Thanks, Joe. They were letting more water in to the Rio Grande this morning. It used to dry up every summer when I was a kid. It is running super low for this time of year without the snowpack to provide spring runoff.
The photos did not post. I would love to see them. Please email them to me at elcheo@swcp.com.
Another ducky day for us all. We should have taken you to the Stobsmuir Ponds —locally known as the Swanee Ponds–when you were here. Heavens a little detour on the way to our house was all we’d have had to do. There’s lovely ponds with swans and ducks there.
That would have been fun. Thanks, Shey.
Well, there’s aye next time!
You’ve been busy. Not much cuter than downy covered babies, even Canada Geese. The skedaddles make for great action photos. Thanks for sharing Tim.
You’re welcome, Brad.
Bird watching is so much fun! I love the sliver moon.
It is. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
Fun tour and gorgeous images of dawn, ducks, and the moon.
Thanks, Brad.
Wow, first of all ducks fear you. I have to think about that for a minute or two. LOL The birds are beautiful and the last photo is amazing.
They make wake trying to get away. It’s hilarious. Thanks, Gigi.
So funny. And you do live in a beautiful place.
What a beautiful series, dawn to dusk! You and the Painter make a great team.
Thanks, Lavinia. The ducklings were a stitch.
WOW! Beautiful bird post, Tim.
I won’t mention all your birds to my pigeons, grackles and sparrows.
Thank you!
“Pigeons, and grackles, and sparrows!” Oh! No! Thanks, Resa.
… well, they’re cute, sort of. The grackles are aggressive, though. They’ll fight with a squirrel over a bit of bread.
Grackles are clowns.
I’m chuckling, because yes, they are hilarious.
Super birdlife Tim …
Thanks, Julie.
