Teagan is warning young lovers, Tim and Laurie, to escape from the sinister circus before they too become a whiter shade of pale — Teagan Riordain Genevien.
Teagan had the idea for her and me to collaborate on a Halloween-themed music video. We chose “A Whiter Shade Of Pale” by Procol Harem. Teagan produced wonderful images of herself, Laurie, and me for me to use in the video, and she sounds great, as always. She wrote a really cool story to go with the video that you can read on her accompanying post at https://wp.me/p30Tpb-9R4.

Halloween Kitties

N
Nightmare on Elm Root Road

Reincarnation
Newborn into an elm root
Got mauled by a dog

I loved the video collaboration between you and Teagan. And the kitty commentary? Priceless! Jake looks like he means business with that root.
Thanks, Liz. We make a dynamic duo. The kitties were silly, as always. That poor spirit in the tree root.
oh my brown skin turned a lighter shade of clay.
Eerie, mysterious tone and poetic, surreal lyrics evoke a sense of otherworldliness that resonates with the Halloween season, you’ve shown.
“We skipped the light fandango,”
is my favourite line, a dance with something intangible, ghostly 😊almost like a waltz through a strangely lit place.
Lovely images, voice and singing a favourite song Strangely enough I’ve been listening to the open air theatre version many times in this month which ends today. Shew!
must be Halloween.
a wonderful celebration for this your Halloween
enjoy the pumpkin pies and the lights, most of all the storytelling. Really nice collaboration.
Great storyteller.
Thanks for the wonderful comment, abvr. I’m happy you got the Halloween vibes out of the video.
I delight Timothy. An absolute delightful read with so many art forms coming together. You are most welcome.
What a wonderful comment — thank you so much for your kind words. There are so many wonderful versions of this deliciously eerie song. I’ve been listening to an all acoustic guitar version. I’m delighted you enjoyed our collaboration. Big hugs.
You such an interesting storyteller. Thank you.
I loved what you and Timothy put together here.
Creative collaboration has a way of amplifying each person’s vision, turning individual sparks into something that truly “bangs.”
You can give me any version of the song, especially and instrumental and I’d love it.
Warm Hugs.
That’s beautifully put about collaborations, Abvr. Yes indeed. I’m happy you liked my story too. 🙂
I love the energy in your work.
You are most welcome, Author.
You’re welcome, Tim.
Thanks for your support, Liz. I agree completely about the kitty commentary. Hugs.
You’re welcome, Teagan.
More amazing work from you and Teagan.
Thanks, Susan. Teagan comes up with great ideas.
You are so kind, Susan — thank you. Happy Halloween hugs.
Hahaha! Love that Jake!
This is a brilliant post Tim. The cats watching, the writing, …everything.
I watched the video on Youtube earlier. It’s A+++++++.
It’s very entertaining, and Teagan’s vocal is wonderful.
You and Laurie were a beautiful couple, still are, and it was terrific to see that beauty in its youth.
Teagan is another beauty.
Cripes, I need to dig up some older photos of me. Not that I’m competitive or anything, that much, often… well, perhaps a wee tiny smidge. xo
Give Teagan a current photo, and she’ll make you into a goddess. She works magic. Thanks, Resa. I’m happy you liked our collaboration and the silly kitties and Jake.
Actually, she put me in a Steampunk gown recently. I look marvellous, simply marvellous!
Yes, Resa — feel free to send me a photo. It doesn’t have to be a “good” one. Like I said, it makes me look half my real size. It doesn’t add much “make up” like some of them do, but still a enhances a little. And yes, I can literally make a goddess, Greek, Aztec, Egyptian… 😀
Hmmm… I will send one when I see a good use. Thank you for your offer Teagan! Much appreciated. Hugs!
You are so generous with your support, Resa — thank you. I adore what Tim did with the kitties here. Hugs.
So much fun! The song/video came out great! Hugs
[…] some computer generated images that I made to tell the story that was in my head! Then Tim made a video with my images and the song. You can see the music video at his blog, Off Center and Not Even. […]
Tee-hee! Tim it’s the best feline gallery ever! Dare you sleep tonight after making them wear costumes? Spunk showing his fangs was perfect too. I loved their silhouetted commentary too.
Thanks so much for “coming out to play” to make this video. You did such great work. I know there’s more to it than you let on. Happy Halloween and big hugs from the Scoobies and me.
You were wondering how the kitties would show up in the post. I told them it was all for you, and then they agreed. Thanks, Teagan. It was a fun project to collaborate on.
They surpassed my cat expectations. 🐱
The kitties are happy they not only passed but surpassed your catexpectations.
Wow ! this is a stunning video compilation: haunting and mesmeric; where did Procul harem ever come up with such an amazing song? Has there ever been a song like it ? will view this a few more times before I’m done ; hopping over after Writers’ Group to read the story 🙂
Thanks, John. Procol Harem released the song in 1967. It shot to number one in the UK eight weeks after its debut. It was a hit in the US as well. The first time I heard it was in the 70s when I was a teenager. Their song “Conquistador” is really good, also.
Tim, I had forgotten about Conquistador. That was another song that fascinated me as a teen.
I could not get into ;Conquistador; I always thought it a lesser song —
I love it. Is lyrics are strange. They make sense, yet they don’t make sense.
Hi, John. Haha, maybe they were tripping the light Fandango themselves. 🤓 I’m delighted you enjoyed this. Please do check out the story. It’s a very quick read. Hugs.
just commented 🙂
Love this song and the visuals with it.. great beat, lyrics and costumes on the kitty’s ❣️ Nice you two
Cindy, the costumes and kitty commentary blew me away. Thanks for commenting. Hugs.
Thanks, Cindy.
Awww, Teagan is the sweetest! What a beautiful video and what a gorgeous couple. I just love everything about it!
…and then the kitties come in! Priceless! Of course you guys are proud of Mamá & Papá!
Jake, what are you doing with that elm root?!!!!
Perfect Halloween post!
Thanks, Marina. That poor guy reincarnated into an elm tree root of all evil got a bad deal in his current life. I hope he ends up better off the next go around. I’m happy you liked the post. Teagan did a great job on the vocals and creating images of us.
I wonder what that poor newborn was before reincarnation!
Teagan always does great vocals but I was also amazed at her images too. Of course, she did have beautiful people to work with!
It does make you wonder. Teagan is a master at AI/CGI graphics.
I love what Tim did with the kitties, Marina. Have a beautiful weekend. Hugs.
Thank you, Teagan. You too! Many hugs back! xoxo
What a great post Tim & Teagan! Thoroughly spooky but the most spooky thing is the ‘thing’ Jake has ‘caught’…
That elm tree root of all evil is really strange. It looks like a drowned rodent. The poor guy stuck in the root got a bad deal. Thanks, Couriers.
Thanks so much! Haha, I agree about that scary root. Hugs.
Have a great Halloween weekend, my dear friends! This was a wonderful post; good music and scary cat photographs. Thank goodness I didn’t spot a snake…
No snakes. Lucky you! Thanks, Herman. I’m happy you enjoyed the post.
Hi, Herman. Haha. I had one image with a snake, but if I had used it… well, I would have had to look at it. I’m afraid that I’m with you about them. I get that many people love their pet snakes. I guess I just have too much feline DNA! I hope all is well in your world. Hugs.
At least we got our snake aversion common with Indiana Jones…
Haha. We’re in good company.
Epic, in every sense of he word. The happiest Halloween Tim’n Teagan. Oh and Jake of course. In fact the happiest to all who took part in this.
Thanks, Shey. We all had a great time with this post, except for the dude stuck in the elm tree root of all evil. He got a bad rap on reincarnation.
Yeah..I felt for him.
Hahaha. It sure looks like the root of all evil.
Thanks for this warm comment, Shey. I love the word “Epic”. LOL 😀 I hope you had a terrific Halloween. Hugs.
Hugs Teagan, thank you. We were away last weekend at a lodge with the family and we did a Halloween bash then for the kids. It was EPIC. I hope you had a great Halloween. We’re pretty well hidden where we live and no-one really knows we are hear except for that same family but they were all elsewhere engaged. So a quiet night itself.
Read our conversation on “Adventures of a Cosmo Dog:” https://wp.me/p1yQyy-bsV to read about how epic Shey’s weekend was.
LOL !!
Fun and creative collaboration! 🤩👏🏻 Happy Halloween!
Thanks, Michele.
Hi, Michele. It was certainly huge fun to create. I hope you had a great Halloween. Hugs.
Hi Teagan and thank you for the reply. Hugs to you!
I love these collaborations between you and Teagan, Tim! Perfect song! Teagan sounds great and I enjoyed the video, kitties and Jake! Happy Halloween to you, Laurie and Teagan, the cat crew, Jake and bird crew.! I will be by to visit Teagan tonight..
Thanks, Lavinia. I’m happy you liked our video. Happy Halloween.
Thanks for your wonderful comment, Lavinia. You made my day. Big hugs.
Big hugs back, Teagan!
This is a brilliant collaboration, Tim and Teagan. I viewed the video a couple of times. Teagan – you have a wonderful voice! The photos, music, lyrics came together beautifully. Looking forward to more!!! You made my day!
I’m happy we made your day, Rebecca. I hope all is well.
Thanks so much Rebecca. Welcome back to the blogosphere. I echo Tim in the hope that all is well. I’m delighted that you enjoyed this. Hugs on the wing.
All is well and life continues to be amazing, even if there are complexities that are encountered in the path. Frances is experiencing a soft recovery and we are enjoying the days we spend with her. Sending much love and hugs on speedy wings.
That’s good to hear.
I’m so relieved to hear that. I do love Ms. Frances. More hugs!
Hi Timothy, this video is wonderful. I’ve never heard this song before. That root or tree branch looks just like a dead animal.
It’s an old song that was released in 1967. I first heard it in the early 70s. Thanks, Robbie.
👍💚
Hi Robbie. I had the same reaction to the root! Scared the heck out of me. LOL.
Procol Harum was an English rock band when the psychedelic era of music was going. I liked the song when I was a kid because it was marvelously eerie. Many thanks for commenting. Hugs.
Hi Teagan, it is a great song and you sang it beautifully. Thanks for the background. I’ll ask TC if he knows it. He is a lot more into music than I am.
Great video,Tim!
I enjoyed reading the story written by Teagan!
Your cats are so cute doing the commentary! Jake on elm street! 🤣 he is a wonderful looking dog just minding his business
Many thanks for visiting both posts, Rebecca. That root was downright scary looking. Jake to the rescue! Hugs.
You’re welcome! ☺️
Thanks, Becky. I’m happy you liked the kitty commentary and Jake doing in the elm tree root of all evil.
Another brilliant collaboration, you guys are amazing! Love the kitty commentary too! 😂
Thanks so much, Tiffany. I agree that Tim’s kitty commentary was fabulous. It’s so fun. Hugs.
Thanks, Tiffany. I’m happy you liked it.
What an interesting project! Congrats!
Thank you, Geoff. It was wonderful fun to keep adding layers of different shades of pale. Hugs.
Thanks, Geoff. It was a lot of fun.
What a fun video!
Thanks, Dawn.
It was huge fun to work on this, Dawn. Tim did a terrific job. Hugs.
Great collaboration befitting of the season. The pups are impressed with the Halloweenie kitties. We were out on Halloween and didn’t get a chance to put the pups in their costumes this year – they didn’t seem to upset about the missed opportunity ha. Thank Jake for taking out that root – we don’t like da roots!
Oh well done! What a great team! Super post .. And those Halloween kitties are gorgeous .. scary too of course
Thanks, Julie.
