Puddle Down

Snowing in the parking lot

We got a half an inch of rain today. I noticed the rain had washed out part of the bridge as I drove over it on the way home this afternoon. After I got home, I changed my clothes, put on boots, gathered up a shovel and a wheelbarrow, walked the quarter mile back up to the bridge, and filled the hole before it grew larger. After I filled the hole in the bridge, I filled many of the larger holes in the road where it runs parallel to the ditch before it got dark.

The photo on the left shows a long puddle in the road reflecting the sunset. The photo on the right shows a long puddle filled with dirt, and the water splashed to the side, reflecting the dusk.

  1. I am always in awe of what you do, Tim. I know what you mean about boredom. It’s never what we get though, is it? 🙂 That sky is gorgeous, and good old Spunk brought a smile.

    • Filling holes was not what I planned on doing from 4 to 5:30. But you gotta do what you gotta do. Thanks, Lavinia.

  2. Hurray for a bit of rain! I wish you were in charge of filling our holes. The ones in Blackburn, Lancashire, are not as bad as The Beatles would have it, but the ones on the Yazoo clay of Jackson, MS, are another matter.

  3. What a Good Deed you did Tim in filling up those holes… I feel for bikers especially with potholes..
Here in England our main roads all over are full of pot holes… We past a car the other day whose wheel dropped into a deep one and damaged it. Waiting for a tow truck..
And love the photos of Spunk.. xxx 🙂

  4. wow, the pics are stunning and you’d never know what a mess and the work it took for you to do which wasn’t picture perfect I’m sure. Doesn’t phase spunk a bit. For the love of our cats😹❤️

  5. Of course… magic dirt clods. What other kind of dirt would one find on a magic tree sanctuary.
Spunkie-Poo 💋 looks absolutely adorable on that bean bag. Does he live on it now? Lol!

    • Magic Beans, you know! Therefore, the dirt clods that get sorted out of the Magic Beans must be magic. Spunk gave up the magic bean bag ride for other jollies. He went looking for the Strawberry Alarm Clock and wanted to know it it was used to wake up Strawberry Fields. Thanks, Resa.
