Or tripping photos. I had to standin the rain for quite awhile to get the lighting. We have received 7 times the amount of rain tonight than we had all month. We’ve received 7/100 of an inch of rain tonight, making the total for the month of June 800th of an inch of rain. Thanks, JYP. Do you have any plans for the 4th?
Congratulations on reaching a whole 800th of an inch of rain!
No real plans for July 4th. I was going to go to the town fireworks tonight (not because I like the fireworks or crowded events with my town, but because a favorite kosher caterer was planning to operate a pop-up restaurant there and I really wanted to order their food and leave) but the fireworks are cancelled due to weather forecast of more than 800th of an inch of rain. But, Fave Kosher Caterer decided to operate their pop-up restaurant from an indoor location, so I’m celebrating the 4th today with yummy food and no fireworks/crowds, and I am considering this a win! What about you?
That’s great you got some yummy for your tummy without having to deal with crowds or suffer fools. Laurie rescheduled her book group for tonight, so I’m psyching myself up to clean the house and deck. I might go out to the river and watch and photograph the fireworks on the 4th. Otherwise, no specific plans at the moment for mañana or the 4th.
Some from wildfires is awful. Even though it’s super dry here, wildfires are minimal because everything got burned up a few years ago, and we were dealing with the smoke. Thanks, Mary Jo.
After all the drought months, it must’ve felt pretty great to be in the falling rain. And this dramatic sky and the thunder and lightning…what a spectacle this storm was. Fantastic photos and words, Timothy.
Not a lot of rain. Our weather gage recorded 700th of an inch of rain bringing the total rainfall for the month of June to 800th of an inch. It was more show than pour. Or a poor pour. Thanks, Jet.
O/T: WP has been a giant pain all day long … what else is new. Seems Reader is not working. You may have no idea of the new post submitted early this morning. Support not answering … I’m close to being done with them forever.
It could be a Norse monster visiting the southwest. We got 700th of an inch of rain out of the monsters. I just commented on your post. I got email notification but it did not show up in the reader.
A beautiful rainbow, Tim. I have always loved those lightning photos of yours, too, though you don’t post too many. Can’t say I blame you for staying in and not risking being fried by a stray strike.
These are some trippy photos! Love the lightening cracks

My pleasure Tim.
You continue to amaze me, Tim, with your photography!!!
Thanks, Rebecca.
That lightning! And a pretty cool rainbow! Happy 4th of July weekend!
Thanks, Nancy.
That is really rather spectacular.
It looks like the sky is conducting the sound of the storm.
It was thunderous. Thanks, Susan.
Yes, do watch your step
… Timothy 😎
I’be been tripping through Strawberry Fields Forever In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. Thanks, David.
It’s hard to fly high when you’re
an iron butterfly 🦋
but at least at Strawberry Fields 🍓
one can rest in peace 🕊️☮️
True.
Amazing images….thank you:)
Yo are welcome, Janet.
That – This – The Whole Thing is absolutely brilliant, Timothy! I LOVE this!

Thanks, Dawn.
Two Holy Grail subjects in one photo, fantastic Tim!
Thanks, Brad.
Well worth standing in the rain for those [I hope you were at least somehow protected!]. Breathtaking shots and I love that moose in the sky!
No protection from the elements. Thanks, Marina.
Oh…. not good!
Thanks for always sharing your beautiful sky. Ours is smoke, so I appreciate your captures.

Perfic for us pareidoliaing people. I found eight items in your great cloud piccies. Thanks.
There are lots of things to see in those clouds. I’m happy you are seeing things in them. Thanks, Inchie.
And fank-you too, Sir!
Are these the Norse kind of monsters?

You guys are dry, dry, dry.
At least the Rio Grande is running high so we are getting irrigation water every two weeks.
And I thought our rainfall was minimal!! Beautiful captures
We are super dry. Thanks, Dawn.

It’s hard to be in a good place to get decent lightning shots. Thanks, Lavinia.
Love the lightening, Tim!
It’s a great shot. Good to hear there is rain.
700th of an inch isn’t much. We finished out June with 800th of an inch of rain. Thanks, Resa.
Ah… sending rain vibes!
I’m hoping the monsoon season, which is soon to set upon us, will be good this year.
I hope so too! How long does monsoon season last?
Starts in July and goes to the middle of September.
Ah, like hurricane season.
Pretty much.
These pictures are wonderful.
Thanks, Roberta.
Those are two absolutely incredible shots Tim. I will say the word “trips” has extra cringe emphasis for me at the moment.
The monster was being empathetic to your plight. Thanks, Brian.
Wow, these shots are spectacular Tim. You have a knack of bringing out the extraordinary in all you capture.
Thanks, Miriam.
Wonderful photos Tim …perfect click!
Thanks, Julie.
