    • I know you are a big fan of hummingbirds with all your wonderful watercolors of them. Too bad you can watch them now. Thanks, Janet.

    • The little hummers seem to get struck by the scenes before them and they will just sit and ponder and attack any bird that comes near them. Vicious little things, those hummers are. Thanks, Brad.

  1. They are flying jewels! The photos are beautiful, Tim. Sometimes they hover in front of the windows here, watching the cats watching them.

We hit 88 degrees yesterday. It is supposed to go back into the 60s tomorrow.

    • Thanks, Lavinia. They like to hover on the outside of the catio and tease the cats who are watching inside the catio.

  2. Dear Timothy,
    GREAT shots πŸ™
We only know hummingbirds from the literature. Oh dear, we thought the minah birds in Huxley’s “Island” were hummingbirds but we just found out they are starlings.
    Wishing you a happy weekend

    • As tiny as hummingbirds are, they are mean little birds who attack birds much larger than they are. Thanks, Fab Four.

    • This one is the only one I’ve seen so far. He’s in the same spots everyday. Thanks, Nancy.

  3. Nice pics of the hummer – guessing there wasn’t any other hummers in the area (with exception of a possible mate), those little devils are extremely possessive of their space (and any feeders they claim). Like a war zone when we get a bunch at our feeders.

    • I only saw the one. That’s his tree. We don’t have feeders. They have to live off of the flowering plants and tiny insects on the roses and flowers. They are vicious little buggers. Thanks, Brian.
