Oh my word, the storm wreck havoc. Was this power outage due to Cyclone Freddy?
I can imagine the cold.
Take care Timothy.
Keep warm.
You are welcome.
We are far inland. It was part of wind blowing across the USA. A friend in Las Vegas, NV called on Tuesday to warn me that high winds were heading our way. He was right. The winds were brutal all day on Wednesday. There were a lot of power outages due to the wind.
Oh wow, winds leave so much destruction in their wake.
I’m so happy for you that the power is restored.
Stay safe.
haha Those lines are full of hot air! Great photo – I was just reading about the movement of these planets. Thanks for sharing.
God’s sake. That is awful. They get the power back on pretty pronto where we live but there was a carry on where Shetland which is a good sized population was without power for weeks at one point. Abso disgrace. It depends very much on where you live in Scotland re lengths of cuts.
When we have a power outage that effects Intel on the hill above us, the power comes back pronto. Since the power line that was broken is on our property and only affected 50 households, it was not much of a priority. The only reason they came to the property looking for issues was that I reported the outage and told the person who took that call we had a pumphouse that would freeze if the power wasn’t restored. Another issue was there were a lot of outages on Wednesday, and PNM has limited crew to repair outages. Before Intel built their first plant in Rio Rancho in 1981, we had regular power outages. Intel forced PNM to improve the power grid in our rather backwoods area.
It all comes down to budget I guess…….
Money and manpower make a difference.
I guess that you can’t have folks sitting about in non emergency times…….
They always have ads for linemen. I don’t know of any line women, but I assume there might be some. I rarely see a young lineman, either. The two that were out the other night looked close to my age, but they were probably 20 years younger. Either way, not spring line chickens, that’s for sure.
No lights has its advantages! 😉
Great Windu and alignement!
But with no power for 11 hours in freezing temperatures meant no heat to keep the pumphouse warm, which was a bit nerve-racking. I’m not in a good state of being to be replacing broken water pipes in the cold. Fortunately, our pipes did not freeze. Thanks, Marina.
Oh, no!!!! 11 hours is a very long time with no heat!!!! [where did three whole days go?!!!! …excuse my delayed response!]
Most likely slipped into a worm hole.
In a macabre way… two funerals in two days… people scram.
Two funerals? Doesn’t sound good.
Close relatives…
Sorry to hear that.
We had high winds from the east and snow squall here yesterday. All that ind blew most of the clouds out by 8:00 PM, and I could see the crescent moon in the west. It got cold here. It was 22 this morning.
It’s crazy how the winds stir up so much and what amazing photos. Wow, the show will be great just in time for my unbirthday. The birds are out in droves right now! 💗
Sorry your lights blow out 7 feet Catus blow over been growing it for 17yrs
That’s sad. Poor cactus. Thanks, Janice.
Wonderful Tim.
Thanks, LRPH.
I like how fanciful your windku is–although losing power is no fun.
Especially for 11 hours when it’s freezing. Thanks, Liz.
My husband and I went through that last month. I spent the time huddled under a big pile of blankets.
I agree with Liz on both counts, Tim.
Thanks, Mayr Jo.
✍Loki, Thor pulling fingers✍
I daresay you’ve developed your own theme for haiku,
Windku – the elements and the avenger specific plot
Love it.
Sorry about the power though
Ours also went out when the clock struck 12.00 at midnight 🙃
That’s close to when ours came back on after being out 11 hours. Very cold evening. Thanks, abvr.

You are welcome, Michele. Jupiter and Venus will be close to each other on the 1st of March.
I read that. Cool!
Maybe the lights blew out inside but outside, they were shining brightly. I was waiting for your version of the alignment!
Thanks, Dale. Jupiter and Venus on the 1st.
If anyone knows, it’s you
Haha, very good poem, Timothy.
Thanks, Roberta.

It was 20 this morning. Sunnny and calm now. Thanks, Lavinia.
We’ve had nothing but clouds and up and down temps here so no sky works for us.
If you haven’t been blown away, then you’re not doing too bad. Thanks, Teri.

You’re going to have an unbirthday in March. March is a popular birthday month. Thanks, Cindy.
It really is and I’ll wait for my beautiful picture I know you’ll capture, yet again! 💞🙏🏼
“Loki, Thor pulling fingers” ~ great commentary with your windku 😂
They were blasting us winth strong winds. Thanks, Randall.
Awesomeness.
Thanks for the chuckle – Loki pulling fingers, now that is grade A material.
We all know the gods must be crazy. Thanks, Brian.
