    • They fly right over me all the time. No fear. I heard cranes tonight and I saw a friend on the levee at sunset who said she saw cranes. The early bird cranes are probably heading further south. Thanks, JYP.

  1. Stunning pictures! So hard to pick favourites, but the one with the birds flying almost in a V in a glorious purple sky is a blessed sight! Breathtaking clicks! You’re soooo good with the camera.

    • Thanks, Sam. Those geese are flying in a V, but they are foreshortened by the lens so they look like they are in a line.

  2. Wonderful pics…all stunning. That last one of the geese is so clear and crisp it’s like I’m there, watching them wing by. And your accompanying haiku…a perfect fit for the pictures.

  3. Such beautiful pictures!!😲

A couple of weeks ago, I saw a flock of birds all gather a little bit away from my house. They were flying in a sort of tornado form and staying put in that place. A few minutes later I witnessed even more of the same type of birds coming from many different directions and joining the earlier ones!! It was like this place is a meeting place for them all to migrate together!! After they all gathered, they flew away together…It was a wonderful sight to behold, especially because you could see their moving shadows on the ground while they were flying😄. I also noticed that they do this every year in the exact same place which is amazing!

Anyways thanks for todays gorgeous pictures😊

    • You have a gathering place for the birds close by. That’s would be really fabulous to watch and experience. Lucky you. The cranes often circle over our property to gain altitude on their way south or north. We must have good thermals over us because the do it many times when then fly in for the winter and fly out before spring every year. Thanks, Ebar.

      • Yes it was a wonderful thing to experience! I tried to get a video of them to upload on my blog but it wasn’t clear unfortunately😓 guess I’ll have to try again next year… It must be nice to see the cranes like that especially since they’re probably bigger than the birds I saw.

  4. How many times can I say WOW?! All the pictures are amazing. Those Canadian Geese are spectacular! Amazing Tim… I’m just going to sit here a while and gaze. Don’t mind me.

  5. Another wonderful collection, reminding me of humanity’s desire for flight, for freedom, for seeing the world from a great height. The sky loves your camera, Tim. And so do I!

  6. These are truly incredible, so is your writing Tim. You have amazing talent. Your photography blows me away. So far and this is really hard to do but my favorite shot of mine is one of the owls. It was in a tree and I kept staring at the tree and I thought it was so beautiful and then I realized their was an owl there as well. I didn’t even see it. It was so well camouflaged that I couldn’t even see it. Then I couldn’t believe that I didn’t see it. Then I called Scott in to look and it took him a minute to see it too. It was not like the owl was tiny either. You capture nature in such a special way, seriously. I wish I had eight hours to just sit and look at your site. It is not only a gift to me that you share these with us but I truly do love nature, animals and music, so one can have a visual feast. Thank you Tim. You two have an amazing rest of your week. Sending you both my love. Joni

    • Thank you for you kind and thoughtful comments, Joni. They really mean a lot to me. It’s amazing how well Great Horned Owls blend into the cottonwoods. You would think they were made for each other, yet there are Great Horned Owls in places there are no cottonwoods. I’m not sure there are places that have cottonwoods and no Great Horned Owls.

      • They are well deserved. You are so unbelievably gifted. It is literally uncanny how they blend. You would think they were made for one another. Your Beaver videos is up there with some of the best as well. Your pictures of the moon are truly amazing Tim. Sending you and your honey big hugs and love. ❤️🤗💕😘🥰
