Spunk Practices Safe Kitten Social Distancing
Spunk and the other kitties are still reluctant to go into the bedroom with the kittens. The kittens are real monsters under the bed. Spunk decided they were okay and the screen, but Morgana still managed to scratch Spunk’s nose.
Monarch and a Skipper
Nuevas Gatitas
We adopted two black kittens, Glenda and Morgana. They came home yesterday. They are 8 weeks old. They are having so much fun that they will not hold still for photos.
So far the other kitties are afraid of them. Marble sniffed Morgana after we brought the kittens home, Morgana spat at Marble and Marble said “¡Hasta la vista, baby!” and ran out of the bedroom. The other cats saw the exchange and followed suit. The other cats can come in and go out of the bedroom through a kitty door, but so far they are staying out of the bedroom.
Three Pterodactyls Together
Oh My it’s Mothra
While I was standing on the sidewalk in front of the office talking to Jim, he noticed a moth on the front door. I picked it up and it sat on my arm fluttering its wings really fast. I did photos of the moth. In “Live View”, the wings fluttered in slow motion. I converted the “Live View” photos to gifs and then to video and put the above video together with guitar accompaniment. After the moth futtered on my arm for about a minute, it flew over to the wall by the door.
“Up against the wall you red neck…” Mothra†
†Mothra is a fictional monster that first appeared in the 1961 film Mothra, produced and distributed by Toho Studios. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mothra to learn more.
Mammatus Monday
August is the month for mammatus clouds. I posted similar clouds on August 1, 2018. These mammatocumulus clouds rolled in well after sundown the other night. While I was out photographing the clouds, I ran into a skunk. The skunk was a sassy little guy. He ran up to within a foot of me and stamped his little paws. It was too dark for the wide-angle lens to focus on him. I took a few steps backward, and he ran up to me and stamped is front paws. This happened several more times. He never turned to spray, just kept running up to me like a challenge or maybe he wanted to play. When I shined my phone light on him to try and get a photo, he ran under the car.
