They are beautiful! I haven’t seen any Herons around but we have lots of cranes, usually the Mom Dad and baby in the Spring. They are very family oriented. Fabulous shot Timothy. Nature is awesome.
Thanks, Holly. The cranes hang out in large numbers when they come here in the winter. Thousands of them will be together in one area. The GB Herons are always alone. Rarely do we see more than one at a time let alone three together.
I’ve never seen three together!
Wow.
It looks kind of like a stand off. Thanks, Dale.
It does!
That is rare. I’ve never seen more than 2 “together” and there was a football field of space between them. This is a great shot, Timothy.
Thanks, Jordan. There as a forth Pter about 100 yards to the south. I couldn’t get all 4.
That sounds like a great experience of a day with photo ops to boot.
The dinosaur era is returning!!! 🙂
Between herons and roadrunners it never went away out it. Thanks, David.
That is a beautiful photo of them in the river. I always enjoy seeing your wildlife, Tim. Your area is teeming with life. How are the owls?
Hi Lavinia. We haven’t seen the owlets or mamma owl in weeks. We are still seeing daddy owl.
Yep. Dinosaurs.
Thanks, Cindy.
You caught them well, Sir.
Any fish left in the river?
Hehe!
Hi Inchcock, I’m amazed at the fish fishermen pull out of the Rio Grande along our stretch of the river.
It would be great to have photo of them, Sir, if possible. I fank you!
I’ll send you some Pter photos.
Socially distanced too….
Way close for Pters. Thanks, Shehanne.
Rare sight indeed. I’ve always seen just one Great Blue. Great shot, Tim.
Thanks, Amy Rose.
What a lovely sight! Haven’t even seen one! 😉
Thanks, Marina.

That’s amazing . They are gorgeous creatures.
Cranes and herons are magnificent birds. What’s interesting is that the GB Heron will hangout with the cranes in the winter, but not other GB Herons.
That’s very strange. I wonder if it has anything to do with survival or reproduction, I would like to know the answer to that oddity.
So….. they don’y like each other? They are solitary birds?
Neat shot!
I don’t know that they “like” each other, but they were together for a while. They are usually solitary birds. Thanks, Resa.
