They are beautiful! I haven’t seen any Herons around but we have lots of cranes, usually the Mom Dad and baby in the Spring. They are very family oriented. Fabulous shot Timothy. Nature is awesome.
Thanks, Holly. The cranes hang out in large numbers when they come here in the winter. Thousands of them will be together in one area. The GB Herons are always alone. Rarely do we see more than one at a time let alone three together.
Three Pterodactyls (Great Blue Herons) together. Not a common sight around here.

Cranes and herons are magnificent birds. What’s interesting is that the GB Heron will hangout with the cranes in the winter, but not other GB Herons.
That’s very strange. I wonder if it has anything to do with survival or reproduction, I would like to know the answer to that oddity.
