Post from June 4, 2011. My post for June 4, 2015 is at http://photos.tandlphotos.com/blog/2015/6/got-ya-covered-zagster if you care to see it.
A brown dragon fly landed high on rose cane early this morning, and let me get fairly close to it from both sides. Normally I can’t get near dragon flies, but maybe the smoke makes them lethargic like it does honey bees — we used to use smokers to sedate honey bees when we would remove the full honeycombs and replace them with new ones. While I’m only speculating on the dragonfly, the smoke is definitely making me lethargic.
America continues to turn out beautiful roses, I found a new hopper on Ballerina, and the wasps were out this afternoon.

The dragonfly photos are amazing.
Fabulous shot of “America”
Thanks, Susan!
Gorgeous photos, Timothy! Nice closeups.
Thanks, Lavinia! This was supposed to post after my blog on T&L Photos, which is scheduled to post at midnight. However, I forgot that WP is on GMT, so it posted already — GMT is another stupid thing about WP. I decided to post earlier blogs until my renewal comes up on WP, but I don’t know if I can put up with the new edit screens and other idiocies of WP until November. I might just end up shutting the whole thing down before then.
Well worth reposting. That was one thing I noticed when I moved to NM… some of the insects I was used to seeing in shades of green were brown.
They like to blend in!
Which makes a big brown grasshopper even more startling when he pops up unexpectedly. 😀
Ah Grasshopper! You may be brown, but you are still green. 😉
I will follow wherever you post! Yes, I noted the link didn’t work.
Thanks, Lavinia! If I do this again, I have to remember to schedule WP to post 8 hours ahead of my time.
Beautiful pictures, I love dragonflies 🙂
stunnig images!! i love dragonflies and their symbolism, too…the virtue of living in the moment and living life to the fullest.
Hey… you’re back on WP…!! 😉
No! Just reposting old blogs.
The colours in close-up never cease to astound me. Marvellous pictures, Timothy.
Nice shots.
Thanks!
Ahh these are fantastic! Your photo’s seriously needs to be framed and sold in a gallery.
Thanks, Miz Shaaz!
Oh my beautiful photos! Amazing detailed dragonfly wings on first and second photo. Beautiful!
Thanks!
You’re welcome.
Hey Tim .. So good to see you here again! Wonderful photos , love the detail and colours 🙂
Hi Julie. I’m not really back because I’m reposting old blogs. Since I’ve paid to have this blog on WP through the end of November, I decided to repost blogs I had done on the same date in 2011 each day, and include a link to my current blog. Since I have posted blogs every day for nearly five years (on different blogs), I have a lot of blog posts people haven’t seen unless they’ve taken the time to go back through over 1300 posts on WP alone, so reposting early blogs gives people an easy way to see some of my early posts along with getting links to my current posts at T & L Photos.
Gotcha! Ever hopeful that you were back on WP as before. Never mind, I do enjoy your posts and wonderful photography. What a great blogging world this is! Have a great day Tim
Thanks, Julie!
Great photos once again. You and Laurie do grow the best America I have seen.
Thanks, Susan!
