Even with frost damage and aphids, our roses are looking pretty good.

  1. Gorgeous rose photos! The colors are quite vibrant. We have a couple of roses where the blossom is shaped more like the Rio Samba but the color is deep red with one or two white stripes. It is very fragrant, and propagates readily from cuttings. They were here when we bought the place and we have no idea what the variety is.

    • Thanks, Lavinia. Your red rose is probably a hybrid tea since it has the same shape as Rio Samba. But if it’s an old rose that’s not produced anymore, it maybe impossible to identify. Roses are more fragrant in humid environments. Since we are have an arid climate, none of our roses have much fragrance.
