This black widow greeted me when I took out the trash and a ribbon snake greeted Laurie while she was hiking in the petroglyphs.

Those are both impressive images. That snake just blends right in, doesn’t it?
She has a couple of shots the snake is so well camouflaged that we can’t find it in the photo.
I’m not really surprised, given how hidden it is in the photo you posted.
I just killed another black widow. It was on the back porch, and I really don’t want them there. This seems to be a great year for them. 😐
The hour glass really shows up on the spider–amazing.and rather scary.

It’s a dangerous world out there…No snakes or black widows in this part of the world.
Ribbon snakes are harmless, but black widows can give you a nasty bite.
