The Taskmaster

100% full August Sturgeon moon this morning.

Moon in dog

Cottonwood cemetery at twilight under the full moon

Lost soles, and a little more bared than feet?

Spunk has become my personal trainer and taskmaster.

This is how it’s done, pathetic, weakling, weeny paparazzo

Come on, you wicked, weeny, whimpy weightlifter! Add more weight! Do more reps! Do more sets! Push through it until it burns and you feel like you’re going to puke!

I have my eye on you, you lazy lackey. Even though you are lying on the bench press, there is no rest for whimpy, wicked, weeny paparazzi!

I’m going to make you press until you puke! You pectorally challenged, pathetic, catatonic paparazzo Puke!

You can’t get up. Do more reps. Do more sets! I’m going to hold you down until you press and puke.

Loki doing his kitty Tai chi streches.

Bromeliad that Laurie got to bloom again. Quite an accomplishment in our dry climate.

Catatonic kitty! The poor, pesky, pathetic excuse of a puke paparazzo wore out the taskmaster.

Jake and I went out for a short walk between light rain showers tonight.

  1. That was fun, Tim, watching Spunkie-Poo 💋 task master you.

He really looks adorable bossing you around.

Wow, that is one splendid moon! Thanks for the pics, Tim!

    • You’re welcome, Resa. Spunk shows no mercy when it comes to being a personal trainer/taskmaster. He wants to see results. Jake and I have been walking five miles every morning before sunrise. I walk much faster than poor Jake likes to walk, so I’m constantly dragging him along. He is worn out when we get back home. I’ve been thinking I need to do a parody of “Dragging The Line” called “Dragging The Dog.”

  2. Ah. We sit in our back yard (about 300 miles east of you) and watch the moon and stars emerge. We have similar scenes of full moon and clouds. Your photos are excellent as always. Spunk suits his job as trainer quite well. I think he meant every word he said! (sorry if I got the gender wrong). One of Spunk’s distant relatives, who looks very much like Spunk, is a neighborhood feral. Sleeps on a table on our front porch most nights. But our two dogs don’t take very kindly to him when he pops into the fenced back yard to catch a dove (or lizard) for dinner! ~Ed.

    • It’s nice to sit in the yard and watch the moon and stars. Spunk is a wild one. He’s always giving il paparazzi a rough kitty tongue lashing for one thing or another. I hope your feral Spunk kitty fares well. Thanks, Ed.

  3. Hahaha! Tim, this is hysterical. Plus, that first pic of Spunk… his expression looks like he might have seen the bare bears who lost those clothes. (Although at the same time, that’s kind of a freaky, Night of the Comet photo scenario.) Hugs to you and yours.

    • The bare feet were strange because that is a very public place to take off (change?) and leave clothing like that. Spunk is such a silly cat. Thanks, Teagan.
