Dawn after the flash flood

Snow Egret caught a fish for breakfast

Another lost sole

Big Gulp

A lost soul, perhaps

The dark line on the opposite bank is the flash flood line, about 6 feet (two meters) above the current natural flow of the river.

Turtle tracks

The moon will be full tomorrow night, but we have not seen it the last few nights because of clouds.

Another Dawn

Spunk

Cool dawn and river images. That’s a lot of water and trash.
It is a lot of trash. Thanks, Brad.
Sadly, that happens here in the creeks and rivers.
A lot of lost souls about. Some beauties in these pics though.
So many lost souls and soles lost in the world. Thanks, Shey.
Oh indeed.
Love all the sky shots and of course dear Spunk!
Pam
Thanks, Pam.
I’m not thrilled about the trash, but the other pictures are truly amazing. Thanks for brightening my day. (I rarely see dawn from outside. I don’t move quickly in the morning.)
Happy to show you our dawns. Thanks, Joel.
I LOVE the moon photo!
It was a pretty moon in the tree. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
Each, each comment, a Gem! Spunk at the end… Perfect!
Thanks, Inchy.
Thanks, Jenny loved it. TTFN
Ethereal
Thanks, Mark.
I know you know, but even with the flash flood you are so blessed with the beauty of where you live. This was a special collection, especially the film clip of the successful fisher. Your beautiful Spunk looks a lot like my Dusk.
Thanks, Angela. The egret is quite a character.
So many incredible shots. Love the egret getting the fish. And the turtle tracks.
Beautiful skies, Tim!
A wonderful video of the egret!
It’s sad that people don’t respect nature and throw away their trash! Our lake is green from the pollution aka lawn cutting, Christmas trees, the occasional truck that sank in the winter.
People are too lazy
There are a lot of trashy folks around here. Thanks, Becky.
Spunk is looking good and a lot of people are shoeless, I guess. What a mess. The sky is beautiful, as always. 😊
Thanks, Gigi.
Beautiful shots, Tim. I hate seeing litter like that. Your skies are breathtaking!
Thanks, Dale.
The dawns are incredibly beautiful. The flash flood sounds scary and left a lot of mess behind. Love the snow egret 😁
Thanks, Roberta. The egret has a lot of personality. Some of the locals have been out picking up the trash off the riverbed. Bless them!
Looks like you had quite a downpour. Problem with flash floods is the water doesn’t have a chance to soak into the ground so little nourishment flora and fauna. We are in a two day solid rain fest at the moment..mother nature doesn’t wante to train!!!!
The downpour was on the face of the mountains 8 to 10 miles from the river. We got zero precipitation from it. Water does not soak into our dry soils; it runs off, and the flash floods can be very destructive. Thanks, Brian.
The eating is good for the gulpers in these flash floods! As for the lost soles, I hope they can befriend a new soul. Great pics as always! 💕
Thanks, Cindy.
The egret is so elegant … Hey Spunk! Handsome puss
Thanks, Julie.
