Walter and Willa were out of the nest and up on the trunk of the tree tonight. They were peeping up a storm, especially Walter. Nora was a tree limb over the horse stall hooting a grocer list. At one point, I looked back at Nora and noticed she was in a different position. A few minutes later, she was feeding Walter a gopher, as shown in the above video.

I finally got Walter’s attention. “What now, you stupid paparazzo?”

I finally got Willa’s attention. “Who’s that? Oh, hi, paparazzo!”

So beautiful to see your photos as if you were at least an accepted member of their little owl world (even if it was aan illusion, due to a huge zoom lens). 🙂
We are lucky they carry on with their life despite us watching and photographing them. Thanks, Heidi.
Fabulous video! The owlets are really growing, fast. Did Willa get any dinner or did Walter take it all?
The owlets are so cute. I wonder when they will fly the nest now that they’re stepping out.
Willa got a few bites of the gopher before Walter pigged it down. He was really peeping that he was hungry. I’m sure Willa got a gopher later on. Thanks, Susan.
Gimme gimme gimme more!!!! Walter has got an appetite and doesn’t seem to mind the camera either!
After swallowing that gopher, Walter was singing, “Yummy Yummy Yummy, I have gopher in my tummy!” Thanks, Marina.
Walter’s a poet too!
Great post and a wonderful video. It’s always very interesting to see how you are following the life of the owls.
It’s nice they just carry on despite the pesky paparazzo. Thanks, Herman.
Oh these were just so cute.. and the looks on their faces.. great photos Tim.. Love these Owls.. ❤
Thanks, Sue.
Walter is really feeling his oats–or should I say gopher?
He was really peeping that he was hungry. He pigged down that gopher. Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
Great video! Great pictures! And they don’t mind you being there. They are getting older. When do they leave the nest?
Thanks, Nancy. I’d say they will be flying in a couple of weeks. They still have a lot of pinfeathers and fluff.
Fun commentary Tim. It seems you have a good rapport with your owl friends.
Thanks, Brad.
I sure hope Nora fed Willa later! What a little piglet is Walter. Sheesh…
Wonderful footage and shots.
And he went Peep, peep, peep and the way back to the nest. Thanks, Dale.
Hahaha!
Incredible photos… Owls are awesome. Say hi to Nora, Willa and Walter for us 🙂
I’ll give them your greetings tonight. Thanks, IM.
Incredible video you got there, Tim!
Thanks, Tiffany.
Great shots and video!
Thanks, Ingrid.
That was some great footage and photos of feeding time, Tim! It is amazing at the size of what can go down their gullets!
It really is. Thanks, Lavinia.
The owls looked so fluffy – the chest area 🤣- I think they were showing off for you, Tim! Catching the gopher! 🤣👍
Thanks, Becky.
oh such great pictures you captured, Tim. They look so soft happy to me. That beats having the gophers that Star has been bringing into the house and comping them up leaving blood on the floor. Here I thought it was cuz the 3 girls were all sharing a bathroom.. and I wrote a poem about it.. ha . I stand corrected💕😹
Thanks, Cindy.
💓💕
What great shots you got of the owls!!! Stunning creatures! 🦉💕
Thanks, Samantha.
These are amazing. Are you zooming in Tim, it’s incredible to see their features and facial expressions. They’re obviously used to you.
I’m using the Bazooka lens to photograph them. Thanks, Miriam.
Great photographs and such adorable owlets. So sweet.
I don’t know how sweet they are giving me those Maddogs. Thanks, Gigi.
Great video, Timothy. The ‘Star Wars’ opening made me smile right away… your photos of Willa are great, the second one with Willa keeping an eye out for Nora is shot at a great perspective.
Thanks, Randall.
They really know how to gopher it, don’t they!
Hahaha! Yes, they do. Thanks, Geoff.
Hahaha!
I’m a bit sensitive about the food chain reality, but the video is wonderful….in its nature way.
Did Willa eventually get her own gopher?
I’m sure she did. Nora brought them a rabbit last night. The aurora trumped “Freaking on the Food Chain” last night. Thanks, Resa.
Lol!!!! Love that you wrote a song about it!
The stars of the show! They are so lovely …
Thanks, Julie.
I have a few gophers up here I can give them if they run out of food down there! I wonder if they eat moles as I have a crapload of them as well that is driving me nuts.
We don’t have moles, but the GHOs would catch them. They get everything the size of a large rabbit, toy poodle or smaller to feed those ravenous owlets. Thanks, Brian.
