Reakirt’s Blue

Reakirt’s Blue (Echinargus isola) is a tiny butterfly with a wingspan of only 3/4 of an inch (19mm). This one distracted me while I was walking in the bosque this morning.

  1. What a beautiful and colorful butterfly and how fortunate you were to be part of the magical moment. Well done, Tim!

  2. A wonderful “blue” that is so much colourful with the light on its wings. Amazing photographs!

  3. Beautiful photographs, Tim. Seeing butterflies in my garden always make me feel good. I love these creatures.

    • Thanks, Susan. In the morning light tits wings were showing rainbows. It’s such a tiny butterfly you cannot see it with the naked eye.

  4. What a sweet little thing. It’s so small, it’s amazing you even saw it.
Anyway, you got some sweet shots.
I’ve seen 1 butterfly so far, this year. It was a small Monarch.

  5. I’ve used a pic of one of these I photographed at your place for collages with flowers. Tiny but beautiful… 🙂
