    • I think spitting on the floor was pretty common back in the day. Might still be for all I know. The sign reminded me of the scene in The Outlaw Josey Wales where Clint starts to spit on the floor and the old lady gives him a look and he swallows the tobacco.

    • Hi Angrlilie. No I live in New Mexico just east of Arizona. We were at a conference in California recently, and drive through Holbrook on the way home.

      • Oh New Mexico, never been to visit. I love California too. I was in Los Angeles which I loved. Magnificent city. I love America ❤ and the Americans 😊

      • You would love New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment. I love France, and the French. I always hear stories about how rude and mean the French are, but I never experienced rude or mean French people. I found the French to be very polite and quite hospitable. We Americans are really the rude ones. I often caught myself being rude, but I would apologize, and that made it easier to get along.

      • It is true that the French have a reputation for being unwelcoming, arrogant and grumpy. But not all French people are like that. It is true that we do not have a good mentality in France 😟 I love New York and I would love to also visit Las Vegas. It is very beautiful Arizona, I put photos on my blog.

      • I have only been in the airport in New York. Las Vegas is an interesting city. The Las Vegas Strip is very glittery. I don’t like it. Off the Las Vegas Strip, Las Vegas is a fairly normal city, and there are a lot of cool things there.

      • I would like to visit all of America (Miami, Los Angeles, California, Las Vegas, San Francisco …) Las Vegas is another world, very sparkly and sparkling. But, I love America and I find the Americans very friendly and welcoming. French people have a reputation for not speaking English well too (smile) 😊

      • There is a lot to see in American. A lot of Americans don’t speak English very well. Your English is much better than my French, and many Frenchmen were very patient with my attempts to communicate in Paris and southern France.

      • I see you have photos of Monument Valley and Brice Canyon in Utah. Monument Valley is beautiful. New Mexico as a large variety of landscapes. In northwestern New Mexico, not too far from the 4 Corners where Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah meet, we have the Bisti Badlands and De-Na-Zin Wilderness area that have very interesting landscapes and features. You can see my photos of a small portion of the De-Na-Zin Wilderness area at https://photos.tandlphotos.com/blog/2015/11/where-the-dinosaurs-roamed.

      • I went to see your link and these are very beautiful photographs of landscapes close to Arizona, New Mexico. It’s beautiful and it makes me travel. Glad you liked my Arizona wallpapers from my blog. For English, I studied it in second language. I also try to perfect myself and improve my English. Otherwise, I understand very well that you have trouble with the French language, it is not very easy to practice and speak, for foreigners. A soon Timothy.

    • You would think. But then again, a lot of things that seem like they should be common sense, are not. Thanks, Tiffany.

  1. That’s what spittoons are for! LOL
    Fun shot!
Oddly enough, I own an antique brass spittoon. However, I cleaned it thoroughly many years ago, and have put every rose bloom my love has given me in it since. It’s filled to overflowing, and the bottom is all rose petal dust.
