I photographed all the animals Christmas Eve, trying to get them to have a “Merry Christmas” look about them. The birds and Spunk were more than willing participants, Diné was okay with it as long as she didn’t have to get off the heater vent under the bed, but Rosencrantz and Guldenstern took quite a bit of coaxing. Blue, the Boa, opted out because she is getting ready to shed — she has milky-blue eyes and she’s a bit cranky — it’s best to leave a 7 foot long boa constrictor alone when she doesn’t want to be photographed.

Love them all! It is nice to see Soren again!
Thanks, Susan!
What a gorgeous crew of animals! I love to see them. Thank you! Mama Manx didn’t want to pose for the camera either?
Thanks, Lavinia! Very perceptive on Mama Manx. She got a kitty flu after Guildenstern had it a couple of weeks ago, and she didn’t survive. I’d been treating her for urinary tract and bowel issues for a couple of years, and her kidneys were not in good enough shape to deal with the flu. The vet treated for a couple of days, we brought her home, she did well for a day and then her body just shut down. She died on December 8th at 1:05 AM.
Since she died at the end of the semester, while I was in the middle of a major web server and Internet upgrade at work, dealing with deadlines, and then holiday preparations, I haven’t had time to put a memorial blog together for her. I didn’t want to hastily put one up, so I decided to wait until after Christmas. We really miss her.
We really miss her.
Oh that is so sad to hear about your cat. Especially before christmas!
My thoughts are with you
Thanks, Rebecca! We really miss her.
You are so welcome. It is hard to lose a pet that was like family
I did note her absence in your list, and had a strange feeling something had happened to her. I am so sorry to hear Mama Manx passed on, and I know what it feels like, to lose a dear furry one. They leave quite a raw spot when they go, and my heart goes out to you all. I’ll plant some bulbs in the garden here for Mama Manx too, next to our beloved Klaatu who passed on in May 2013. You will see her in spring.
Thanks, Lavinia! That is really sweet of you.
Looks like all your friends are in attendance! They are all so cute! 😀
Thanks, Michelle!

Thanks! Merry Christmas, Leyla!
Hm… I looked at the pics and thought, I think one of these kitties might be of help to Luna, the mascot for: look at a flower, stop all war, campaign. Maybe Luna needs a battalion of peace makers….
Merry Christmas, Tim.
Thanks, Genie! Merry Christmas!
Great selection of photos here, amazing!
Thanks, Sebastian!
So very sorry to hear of your kitty … Love your gorgeous lineup .. Our pooch isn’t one for the camera either. Merry Christmas
Thanks, Julie! Merry Christmas!
Love your menagerie. I grew up with cats but my wife is allergic so none for us. And I’m not sure either of us would be comfortable with a boa. We could do birds but I’ d hate to compete with the hummingbirds we have in the garden spring through fall. We have been dog sitting for several months now but she and I merely put up with each other!
Thanks, Emilio! Too bad your wife is allergic to cats, you really miss out not having cats. Parrots are great. Especially African Grays. They have the intelligence of five year olds and act like three year olds, so there’s never a dull moment with a Gray in the house. Boas can be real huggers, but you have like snakes to deal with them. I like big dogs, and have never been much of a fan of little dogs, but for some reason little dogs like me.
They are so lovely, and I loved all these photographs. Thank you dear Timothy, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, love, nia
Thanks, Nia! Merry Christmas and I wish you and your family a happy and prosperous New Year.
