I went out to see if there was water in the irrigation ditch. There was no water in it, but while I was out, I walked over to the clearwater ditch that runs between the irrigation ditch and the river. While I was checking out the dragonflies and other critters hanging out by the water, a bullfrog popped up to see what I was doing. He was very charming.

Cute frog! Looks like he/she is in the genus Rana, but doesn’t look like bullfrogs I knew from back east. How big?
It’s a bullfrog. This guy looks to be a teenage bullfrog. Stretched out he would be a 16 inches long or longer. He’s three times bigger than the leopard frogs we have out here, and about a third the size of a full grown bullfrog.
A big-un! I haven’t seen one of these Godzilla frogs since I left the east coast. They are here in Oregon, but non-native and listed as an invasive species.

Works for me!
Thanks, Cindy!
Cute frog… but no way would I kiss that! My sons have found frogs and toads in our yard, They love to catch them, but they always let them go.
Thanks, Janna! I wouldn’t kiss him or her either. I’ve never been very good at telling the sex of frogs unless one is on top of the other, but it’s still a guess.
That is some frog
Thanks, Rajiv! He seemed to be teenage sized, as bullfrogs get to be two or three times his size.
great shots.
Thanks!
Beautiful photograph of the frog, he really looks very charming!
