Thanks! His feathers are much better looking than when we rescued him. His beak had grown so long he couldn’t groom or preen his feathers. He still hasn’t learned how to preen or groom himself very well.
Thanks. René is quite a character, although he still has behavioral problems from the years of neglect before we got him. Our daughter originally took him and then we ended up with him because he was having problems with all the people and activity in her house. You can learn more about René, formerly known as Joey, at http://photoofthedayetc.com/2012/12/30/joeys-big-adventure/. René is very expressive.
Her feathers look so fine!

Thanks! René would love you too.
LOL~ I love birds~ love them!
Oh how gorgeous!!!! Is he plucking?
René, formerly Joey, is a long story http://photoofthedayetc.com/2012/12/30/joeys-big-adventure/ Since we rescued him and got his beak trimmed, he has plucked himself to some degree, At one point he had plucked himself bald,
Those are some colorful feathers on that bird, not to mention the beak! I bet he is one smart bird.
Thanks! Actually, he is quite simple compared to our Conure and our daughter’s African Grays.
Love the green colours, beautiful photos of a beautiful bird!
Thanks!

Rene is very beautiful. He looks curious and happy. Maybe you could start a fan club; everyone loves him.
Thanks, Juanita. I’ll have to think about a fan club.
Very pretty bird and great shots…now I can hear Jethro Tull in my head 😉
Thanks. Hopefully it’s not too bothersome.
Not at all…used to have one of his LP’s.
Very cool â how old is he/she?
He’s 10 years old.
Aww, Rene, I can imagine him out there making his Mario noises. ❤
He didn’t make any of his noises. He was too busy checking things out.

Pretty bird!!
Wow, those colors. Great photos. Paulette
Thanks!
He’s quite handsome.
If he didn’t have the orange/yellow beak, he would be able to blend into the jungle scenery perfectly.
His “candy corn” beak does make him stand out! Thanks!
