As I started up the fly-over driving from Coors Blvd to I-40, I noticed the balloons in the sun. I got three blind drive-by’s as a drove over the fly-over and under the balloons.
Drive by shootings are the best!! Speaking strictly of shooting photographs of course ~ I adore hot air balloons and have a life altering memory that involves one 🙂 🙂 so thanks for the reminder and the excellent pics!!
Whoops!!! posted too soon …. I was comforted through an extremely difficult transition by 3 things: faith being first …and the other 2 (of all things) were well..a sunrise and a hot air balloon ~
Very cool! Have you ever been to the International Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque? We live across the river from the Balloon Fiesta Park, so a lot of balloons drift over our house the first week in October every year.
Many years ago when I was living in the northeast of England, I heard a voice calling to grab my attention. It took me a moment or two to realise the voice was coming from above; a hot air balloonist who had lost his bearings dropped low and shouted to me for directions! One of the more surreal moments of my life! I have a hot air balloon scene waiting in the wings for me to write about when the right novel comes along!
I’ve never had to give directions (pretty hard to get lost out here), but I’ve had conversations with balloonists in flying by. It can be a bit disconcerting to have voices coming out of nowhere, which happens with low flying balloons especially on still quite mornings.

Now you have my interest. Our family has been involved with hot air balloons since 1972.
