Springtime

IMG_9141

The sky was cloudy most of the day with occasional sunshine slipping through. The temperature got up to 80 F, and our early blooming pear tree popped its first bloom. A few of the red tulips are blooming and a lot more tulips are thinking about it β€” with the positive signs of spring, I got out my macro lens. I also got the rest of the iris separated and planted this afternoon, and ran drippers and soaker hoses, but I really need to irrigate. I’ll go out at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning to see if there’s water in the irrigation ditch, and if the gate’s unlocked, but I’m not counting on either.

  1. This is interesting. Your winters are colder, and yet your spring flowers are farther along than here.
But your images at least show me spring has to be on the way! πŸ™‚

  2. Enjoyed them all but I love number 3 – something about the red and the yellow, reminds me of that eye thing from Lord of the Rings. Perhaps my dad used to play the dvd’s so often whenever I came to visit, that the image is stuck in my head, lol.

  3. Beautiful flowers.
We didn’t have any flowers around here in early March, but by the beggining of April–winter finally let go.
People always say that “April showers bring May flowers,” but we had so much rain in the last few days of April, I was a little worried that the May flowers were going to drown. πŸ˜‰
The rain has stopped now, it’s the 2nd day of May, and green is everywhere. I love it!
