I believe this beetle is a Pine Sawyer Beetle. It had a standoff with my macro lens this morning. The moth in the second photo is well camouflaged in color as well as B&W — I liked the charcoal look of the B&W. Our white lilies are blooming. These may be some of the Easter lilies I planted last year after they finished blooming inside.

Great job with the beetle!
We got a couple of drops. It’s cloudy and windy and that’s about it so far.
I didn’t even get a couple of drops, but it sure smells like rain (a nice change from the smell of smoke).
The beetle looks like he is ready for trouble. The black and white photos are very interesting and sharp.
I think the beetle got tired of me putting him in better light — it made it stand still for an instant.
