The Week: June 8th — 14th

Click here —> T and L Photos Blog to see the photos and commentary for the week of June 8th — 14th 2015 at a glance.

I have been reposting old blogs from the same date in 2011 every night for the past week with a link to the current photos and commentary posted that day on my T and L Photos Blog (which is really the current Photo of the Day, Etc.); however, since I’m paid up on my WP account until the end of November, I was maintaining the WP site until the end of November 2015. So far I think the reposts from 2011 are just confusing people who think I’m back posting new photos and commentary on WordPress.  Now I’m trying to decide whether I should go ahead and transfer my photoofthedayetc domain to T and L Photosshut down the WP blog, put it out of it’s misery, and end the confusion, or wait until November. Any thoughts (staying with WordPress is not an option)?

Still Blooming

As this America Rose continues to fade to pink, the other three buds finally bloomed, as it begins it 4th week of blooming since I first photographed it: http://photoofthedayetc.com/2014/10/25/fade-to-pink/

While this rose has been really hanging in there over the past few weeks, I have been busy over the last couple of weekends: I repaired the dryer and got the parts to rebuild it while I had it apart, and then we went on a photo excursion over my birthday weekend. This past weekend I helped my neighbor with computer and network issues, rebuilt our furnace, picked up several bags of Halloween candy for half price (after Halloween sale), developed three rolls of film, went to a concert by the NM Philharmonic, got a new old scanner set up and tested, installed a new, larger hard drive in Laurie’s computer, and made prints from some of the negatives I developed. Now it’s back to work after a productive weekend.

Fade to Pink

America, October 13, 2014

This America rose has faded to a nice pink over the past two weeks. The large bud opened and has been well preserved as turned from salmon to pink, but the three buds accompanying the rose have shown very little growth or progress toward opening. Between the very cool nights and shortened days, I’m not sure there is enough warmth or light left in a day for them to fully open.

Designer Darkroom

A18W2437

I painted the outside of the darkroom and put up shelves for storage of the remaining equipment and supplies that are still in the dance room. There are three photos of the darkroom with a view from the top of the step, a view from floor level and a fisheye view just for fun. In-between the photos of the darkroom, I have a photo of our sunflower forest, and a photo of Veteran’s Honor with grasses, our black bamboo forest and trees behind it.
