Sealed In A Kiss

Sealed in a Kiss is a sappy song about love and lust in Paris, France. It starts out in the key of G Major with some dissonance representing sad memories. I change to the key of D Major for the guitar solo, then I move to the key of C Major for the bridge. I change back to the key of G Major for the last chorus and outro.

Sealed In A Kiss
By Timothy Price

[Verse]
Hanging filmstrips up to dry
The last memories I have of you
Sealed in silver and empty spaces
Your ghost drips under amber light

[Chorus]
Reminiscing about times gone by
How we were lost in our lust
And how we found our love
Sealed in a kiss

[Verse]
I think back when we locked lips
Entangled over the river Seine
Our tongues played yours and mine
That was all the French we knew

[Guitar Solo]

[Bridge]
Boy and girl caught in the cold rain
How the steam did rise
We came up for air from time to time
Mouth-to-mouth brought us back to life

[Chorus]
Reminiscing about times gone by
How we were lost in our lust
And how we found our love
Sealed in a kiss

[Outro]

Chupacabra

This is literally a bloody awful music video. Gwendolyn and Glenda have been doing great imitations of Chupacabra. I had to make a parody music video for G&G with them doing their own imitations. This video will definitely give Brian nightmares.

Chupacabra
Lyrics: Timothy Price
Music: John Lennon

Chupacabra’s gonna to get you
He’s going to grab you by the head
He’s going to rip your throat out Mr.
He’ll suck your blood until you’re dead
Why in the hell do you want to park
And walk in the bosque after dark
What do you think you’re trying to prove
Chupacabra he’ll get to you

Chupacabra’s going to get you
He’s going to grab you by the face
Gonna suck all your blood out sister
Take you from the human race
You know you’re never going to be
Saved by a fool not me
Who the hell do you think I am
A Superman
Or Sam I Am

Beware You’ll all die young
From the wounds and the scars and the blood
Chupa he’s the one
Bleeding everyone just for fun

Chupacabra’s gonna to get you
Gonna knock you off your feet
He’ll pull you down asunder
Like everyone he meets
You should not be standing there
You will surely meet disappear
And why it’s not so very clear
That Chupa’s everywhere
He kills and takes his share

Beware You’ll all die young
From the wounds and the scars and the blood
Chupa he’s the one
Bleeding everyone yes everyone
Yeah yeah, alright, uh huh, ah

Beware You’ll all die young
From the wounds and the scars and the blood
Beware You’ll all die young

Beware You’ll all die young
From the wounds and the scars and the blood
Beware You’ll ll die young
From the wounds and the scars and the blood
Beware You’ll all die young
From the wounds and the scars and the blood
Beware You’ll ll die young
From the wounds and the scars and the blood

Travel Photo Challenge Day 6 “GOAL!” 8 Days in Paris

The neighbor’s cow was itching to get into the spirit of football…

Day 6 of the Travel Photo Challenge takes us to Paris, France in 2018. We were in Paris for 8 days in July 2018.  Laurie gave a paper at the 2018 Internation Conference on Construction Grammar. Laurie and I were both going to present papers at the 2020 Internation Conference on Construction Grammar in Antwerp, Belgium last August, but it was postponed to August 2021 because of COVID.

We did a lot of exploring, including meeting up with a fellow blogger, Anne, who hasn’t posted in a couple of years, and she gave us a long walking tour of the 10th and 19th Arrondissements. We arrived in Paris the day France played and won the World Cup by defeating Croatia 4-2. The Parisians were celebrating in the streets.

We stayed in a hotel inside the roof of a hospital that was rebuilt in 1380 and then remodeled in 1801 to remove the church-like façade. The hospital is catercorner to Notre Dame. The hospital is a labyrinth and it was very difficult to find the hotel when we first arrived. After 8:00 pm security had to ring us in through a side door, and we often had a heavily armed military unit follow us into the passage. One day when the military unit was making its rounds through the hospital, one of the men broke guard, stopped me, and asked me about my cameras and lenses. He was into photography and we chatted for a few minutes then we rejoined the unit.

There are 79 photos broken up into the World Cup celebration, Fashion Wheels, Where we stayed, On the town, Château of Vincennes, and Notre Dame. We were there the year before Notre Dame burned. We got up in the bell towers on our last day in Paris. We are very fortunate to have been able to go to Paris in 2018 and stayed so near Notre Dame.

The photographer of the day is Inge David at https://ingedavid.wordpress.com/portfolio-2/. I don’t know where Inge lives, but it’s somewhere in northern Europe. She is an excellent photographer and loves cars, architecture, and nature.

GOAL! France won the World Cup in 2018.

…She painted herself like a Frenchman.

People were sitting in the streets all over the neighborhood we were in watching the game.

Fashion Wheels

This family, each on their own wheels were adorable, and the young woman on the right was very fashionable.

Where we stayed.

We had a small, comfortable, modern room with our own bathroom and air-conditioning. Not bad for a 640-year-old building.

We were in the last room in the third wing on the right.

Château of Vincennes
We walked five miles east to Château of Vincennes, which is outside of Paris proper. You can learn more about it in my post A Long Walk into the Past at https://photos.tandlphotos.com/blog/2018/7/a-long-walk-into-the-past

Day In The Life Of Inchcock

I made this parody back in 2017. Inchcock did a post recently on memories about when he was in the hospital after he had a stroke. The post made me think of all the getting out and walking about Nottingham Inchcock did before and after his stroke, up until he was put in home jail where he’s been locked up in solitary confinement for months due to the COVID cooties. Of course, being placed in solitary confinement with much less access to medical services increases his risk greatly, but good old Inchcock takes his pain in stride and presses on entertaining us with the daily details of his dealings with life in solitary confinement.

A Day in the Life of Inchcock
Music by the Beatles
Lyrics by Timothy Price

Great pain, high spirits today oh boy
A lucky man standing by the Methodist Church
I think I should be rather sad
But I just had to laugh

I took the photograph
Out the window, mind you houses and cars
Off to Sherringham for shots, so quick, times have changed
Nicole the nurse she just stood and stared
Trying to stop my blood
Was this really it
Was I off to see the Lord

A Whoopsiedangleplop today oh boy
The phone went off a dingling and a dangling
T’was the nurse bitching about my ambling
‘You’re not in your Flat?’
And you don’t have the book
I’d love to turn you Down

Got back, had a Weeee!
Refreshed, and accident-Free!
Got back out front and had a cup
Doorbell rang and I noticed it was late
It was the Nurse she had no hat
Up the lift in seconds flat
She had a firm, tight end that was smokin’ hot
She poked me in the tummy and I came out of my dream…

Great pain, high spirits today oh boy
Four thousand holes poked in me tummy there were
Although the holes where rather small
I couldn’t count the lot
We still don’t know how many holes it takes to fill old Inchcock

I’d love to turn you Down

Non-Tubular Bells

John at Las Vegas Photo Blog posted a video of church bells ringing in Banff, Canada, which reminded me that I had recorded the bells ringing while on the bell towers at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France, in 2018. I found the video and decided it was boring by itself because the bells at Notre Dame were very loud standing in the bell tower, and they didn’t have any variation other than a bunch of bells ringing at once. Therefore, I wrote a piece of music to go with the bells and put together a rather strange music video called Non-Tubular Bells. I include photos from Notre Dame in 2018 before the fire, pictures of Paris taken from the bell towers, video of the American Flag at our neighbor’s house, video of our neighbor’s dogs playing in the Rio Grande, and video of the Owlets flapping their wings and flying a little.

Another Sad Day for Paris

Another sad day for Paris with Notre Dame burning. Laurie and I were in Paris last July for a conference and stayed in the Hotel Hospital in the hospital building that’s behind the foliage on the left-hand side of the photo above. I added links to posts I’ve done with Notre Dame after the last photo.

Graveyard Cats

0A6A0790

I’m posting on WordPress tonight because Zenfolio is having issues so I cannot get to my site.

We went for a long walk out to the northeast side of Paris today. On the way we visited this small cemetery, and noticed we did not see any rats running around. As we were leaving a kitty came out from some bushes and we could see that behind her were some kittens. I walked over to take a look and the kitties had a little house that two of the kittens ran into when they saw me. One stayed out on the ledge long enough for me to get a few photos. While the mama kitty would not let us get very close to her, she didn’t run away, and the kitten that was following her around was adorable.
