  1. You caught some beautiful contrails, Tim. I once saw a contrail here that had been shaped by the winds at a lower lever than the upper straight contrail, forming a $. A sign of the times for sure. It was near the horizon and my little point and shoot camera did not do it justice.

  2. I dunno, Tim… Could be a secret message and you’d best pay attention to anything that seems out of the ordinary… 😉

    Love these captures!

    • I’ve seen them go into an almost virtical climb, but it’s rare to see jets turn like that. Jets normally land on the east/west runway. If the pilot was told to land on the north south runway, he would make left turn then a right turn to get ligned up properly. Thanks, Leenda.

      • I live very close to an airport. Shortly after 9/11, a jumbo jet flew over waaay too low and at a “wrong” direction. I was freaking out, HARD, thinking it was crashing or hijacked, but no one else seemed to notice how unusual it was. I called the airport and learned it had been a missed landing with rapid climb to keep from crashing. Any time I hear a loud/low jet, I still freak out.

        • We get a lot of low-flying planes over our house, and we are 20 miles from the airport. We have a lot of military aircraft flying over us along with small planes.

          • Oh, the military planes! We had 2 USMC airbases that used to make a racket.. both closed years ago. I still hear insanely loud military copters flying over the LA “river”, but have no idea where they go.

  3. Ah, the memories of Bugs Bunny cartoons – pretty sure I still have the complete collection of banned Looney Toons somewhere on my storage drives.
