You caught some beautiful contrails, Tim. I once saw a contrail here that had been shaped by the winds at a lower lever than the upper straight contrail, forming a $. A sign of the times for sure. It was near the horizon and my little point and shoot camera did not do it justice.
I’ve seen them go into an almost virtical climb, but it’s rare to see jets turn like that. Jets normally land on the east/west runway. If the pilot was told to land on the north south runway, he would make left turn then a right turn to get ligned up properly. Thanks, Leenda.
I live very close to an airport. Shortly after 9/11, a jumbo jet flew over waaay too low and at a “wrong” direction. I was freaking out, HARD, thinking it was crashing or hijacked, but no one else seemed to notice how unusual it was. I called the airport and learned it had been a missed landing with rapid climb to keep from crashing. Any time I hear a loud/low jet, I still freak out.
We get a lot of low-flying planes over our house, and we are 20 miles from the airport. We have a lot of military aircraft flying over us along with small planes.
Oh, the military planes! We had 2 USMC airbases that used to make a racket.. both closed years ago. I still hear insanely loud military copters flying over the LA “river”, but have no idea where they go.
I saw similar shapes in the sky a few hours ago. Maybe Bugs Bunny is making his rounds.
Could be. Thanks, Michele.
Defo Bugs Bunny….He makes them here too….
Thanks, Shey.
Looks like it:)
Thanks, Janet.
I do believe it is!
Thanks, Liz.
You’re welcome, Tim.
What’s up Doc? That story brings back many childhood memories of Bugs, thanks.
I love old Bugs. Thanks, Brad.

It’s amazing wha the wind can do with contrails. Thanks, Lavinia.
I dunno, Tim… Could be a secret message and you’d best pay attention to anything that seems out of the ordinary… 😉
Love these captures!
Nah! Definitey Bugs Bunny diverting the plane. Thanks, Dale.
Okay then. If you’re sure, you’re sure!!
When it comes to Bugs and making lefts at Albuquerque, I’m pretty darn sure. But then again, you never know.
I’m sure you are right. You are in a far better position than I to know!
I’ve never seen a trail like that – only straight lines here.

Ah, I see the painter uses contrail brushes now! Brilliant! …and TimKu!
Bugs Bunny bending the painter’s stroke. Did you get Bugs Bunny cartoons in Athens when you were young/ Thanks, Marina.
Bugs was one of my favorite looneys.
Me too.
looks like. now what? Very cool, Tim❣️
Which way now? Thanks, Cindy.
Neat contrails.
No contrails here, just cons, and trials.
Bugs is the pilot!
Now Sky Pilot is in my head. Argh!
I need to draw.
I hadn’t thought about Sky Pilot in a while. We have a lot of cons and trails here, too. Thanks, Resa.
xo
Ha! Good one.
Hugs (and hugs to Bugs, wherever he may be)
I think Bugs needs hugs these days. Thanks, Teagan.
Ah, the memories of Bugs Bunny cartoons – pretty sure I still have the complete collection of banned Looney Toons somewhere on my storage drives.
An Albuquerque-ku!
How about that? Thanks, JYP.
