Hi, Tim. Where were these pictures taken? I’ve been telling everyone that the South Valley Marigold Parade was on Sunday. These are great pics, of course, but at first they confused me. 🤔
These are from the Marigold Parade we went to in 2012. I have so many photos from the day that it’s easy to post new photos. Since the City dictates the face painting and costume styles, one parade blends into another. Thanks, Susan.
“Welcome To My Nightmare” is one of my favorite Alice Cooper albums. Albuquerque has a Merigold Parade every year to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. They have strict guidelines for face painting and costumes. Thanks, Liz.
Welcome To My Nightmare is one of my favorite Alice Cooper albums. We got a kick out of Cold Ethyl as teenagers because I had friends whose families were in the mortuary and coffin-building businesses. We wondered about necrophilia, as you might imagine teenage boys might do.
Great Dead pics. I found some Day of the Dead art. I looked it up and it said it was celebrated up to the 6th. Of course I don’t know what to believe online.
The City’s Marigold Parade is on the first Sunday after November 2nd. When the 2nd falls on a Monday, it will be on Sunday, November 6th. I’m happy you like the video. Thanks, Resa.
Yes. I just answered that before I saw this comment. We will change to standard time at 2:00 am. At least we get an extra hour of sleep, but Spunk will get me up to feed him at 4:30, thinking it’s 5:30.
Another stellar video, Tim. The costumes are brilliant. What I love about Dia de la Muertos is how colourful parades, sugar skulls and the sharing of stories about those who have gone before links us to the greater story of humanity. A wonderful celebration! You really know how to throw a party, Tim.
Thanks, Rebecca. Laurie set up an altar to memorialize family members who passed from our lives this year. The altar includes candles and items they liked. The cats lent Laurie one of their stuffed mice for Blue Boa. Thanks, Rebecca
That is a great video and selection of photos from Dia de la Muertos, Tim! I am unfamiliar with the Alice Cooper song, and his music in general. First time I’ve heard it.
That is some festival! The costumes are great. My favorite photo is the one of the ladies with the pink parasols..
Cold Ehtyl is on his Welcome To My Nightmare album, released in 1975. I loved the album when it came out, and it is still one of my favorite Alice Cooper albums. The Marigold Parade is colorful. Thanks, Lavinia.
Wow great pictures!
I don’t think I’ve seen a Canadian town celebrate El Dia de los Meuertos, not that I have heard of. But it’s nice to see the pictures you posted!🤗☺️
This brings me back to my teenage years (many, many years ago) when I was I big fan of Alice Cooper. I saw him live in Antwerp with the ‘Welcome to My Nightmare’ show. That was fun… Hmm, think I’m going to listen to some Alice Cooper records today…
Lucky you. I don’t remember Alice coming to Albuquerque when I was a teenager. He comes through often now. The pics in the video I took at his concert last October. He was here with Rob Zombie in July. Welcome To My Nightmare is still one of my favorite AC albums. Thanks, Herman.
I believe this was my first concert in the company of my older big brother. He also took me to a Lou Reed concert a few months later. AC performs live on a regular base at the Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, a 20 minutes drive from my home. My favourite AC album is Billion Dollar Babies.
Perhaps Ethyl could do with a dose of
nitrite. Perhaps then she’d ignite 🔥 and
put some life into Dia de los Muertos💣 💀
Like the brilliant spark of your tribute
to Alice Cooper 👍
Yes, one of my favorite Alice songs – officially got banned from my grade school when the nuns finally listened to the lyrics …. and figured out Alice was not of the Wonderland hehehe. Love the makeup!
Love the costumes and face paint to celebrate Dia de los Muertos.
Thanks, Brad. What did you think of the video?
Creative and fun.

I’m wondering if tomorrow’s parade will encourage voting as this one 2012 did.
I’m sure it will. Probably doubly so.
Good old Alice Cooper! Your Dia de los Muerto photos give a real sense of what the celebrations were like.
“Welcome To My Nightmare” is one of my favorite Alice Cooper albums. Albuquerque has a Merigold Parade every year to celebrate Dia de los Muertos. They have strict guidelines for face painting and costumes. Thanks, Liz.
I remember “Welcome To My Nightmare” very well. I was a big fan. You’re welcome, Tim.
gee, I enjoyed this so much; you folks sure know how to dress up and celebrate 🙂
Folks get into El Dia de los Muertos around these parts. Alice Cooper fits in as well. Thanks, John.
great video too, Tim: just looked up the lyrics: it’s quite the Halloween song, Alice at his best 🙂

Yes, I remember the album now. It was quite big in Oz. You have an interesting back story, Tim; I’m glad I subscribed to you —

thanks Tim: a great little tale, well told: I was there !
Thanks, John. Weird things from my youth.
a colourful and well misspent youth; good on you 🙂
i love this holiday, where was this?
Albuquerque, NM. The City hosts a Marigold Parade every year. Thanks, Mark.
Love the video and especially love the photos of the celebration. I ran into one so dressed and painted tonight on my way to supper with my daughter.

Wonderful photos. She is in perfect EDDLM character. I’m happy you liked the post. Thanks, Dale.
Thank you. She is, isn’t she?
And yes, I very much liked it!
Groovin’ on the song and video. Thanks Tim!

Thanks for the fun!

So, the parade will be on the 9th this year?
It’s tomorrow, the 3rd. Today is Saturday.
OH so the parade is tomorrow? I keep thinking today is Sunday!

Cat stomach clocks do not change along with the human clocks.
Animals don’t care about saving no stinking daylight.
Can’t fool Spunkie-Poo 💋! Or is he so smart, he’s just taking advantage?

Wow, halloween is really, really big in USA!!
You are correct about Halloween. It’s up there with Christmas these days.
Sorry, this is Dia de los Muertos style of course same idea. Pretty down-key in England and here in Lima.
El Dia de los Muertos is an extension of Halloween for many people. Thanks, Geoff.
Wow great pictures!
I don’t think I’ve seen a Canadian town celebrate El Dia de los Meuertos, not that I have heard of. But it’s nice to see the pictures you posted!🤗☺️
Dale got a photo of a muerta over in Montreal. Thanks, Becky.
Really? That’s so cool! I will have to check that out
I always think this looks so cool. Great pics.
Thanks, Shey.
Great video for the one and only AC, Tim!
Your El Dia de los Muertos photos are so good.
Thanks, Marina. Happy day after EDDLM. We could make a music style with that acronym.
True!!!
Happy -rest of- Sunday!

Billion Dollar Babies is a great album as well. Lou Reed must have been fun to see.
Oh yes, Lou Reed was great. But I was deaf for 3 days afterwards…
I think Alice was having a little too much fun with that doll!😂 Happy Dia de los Muertos! 💐
Thanks, Tifffany.
Wow, these are great pictures.
Thanks, Robbie.
Great job on the video, Tim. It looks like a fun day. Hugs.
Thanks, Teagan.
Great pictures! What an awesome parade!
Thanks, Nancy.

Then she would be hot! Seems like an oxymoron in the making. Thanks, David.

Nuns are a little slow on the uptake. Thanks, Brian.
