Waiting for the apple blossom special! I always thought the old fiddle tune “Orange Blossom Special” should have been called “Apple Blossom Special” specially since people used to drink apples as hard cider more than eat them in days gone by. Thanks, Liz.
A beautiful night sky! Also nice to see bees and apple blossoms. Our apple trees have fat pink buds but have not bloomed yet. Maybe another week or two, weather depending.
Now that is a busy bee! I understand their criticality to the ecosystem, but I would sure like to understand why they find it essential to sting me whenever I get near them – got tagged 3 times running on the trails yesterday (although in their defense I think they were ground bees/hornets and not the honey variety, but I blame them for sitting back and watching it happen ha!
You’re a bee magnet, too? Hornets will go after you if you step on their nests. Honey bees normally don’t sting when they are away from the hives. Thanks, Brain.
Beautiful up-close photos of the apple blossoms and bee.
It was 83º this afternoon. Making for happy blossoms and happy bees. Thanks, Rebecca.
