Tarantulas? I met a few in Sinai. They scared the shit outta me. But we had Sun Spiders there. They were the size of Mo’Peds. They were so big, the freaking camels would run from them. I actually had one chase me one night on my way from the SFM bar to my hooch.
True story.
I need to write about that incident.
Hell, I probably have…. lemme look.
One of these guys correct: https://wp.me/p1yQyy-21z? They are one of the fastest invertebrates known to man reaching speeds up to 10 mph, you are lucky the one didn’t catch you. However, they are not venomous. Therefore, other that looking fierce, these guys are not much to worry about, other than the possible humiliation of being out ran by one.
Ok. This is not the incident I was referring to… this is more ‘recent’, but you may laugh. At least I hope you do.
Cause it is true.
I lived it.
Life was always ‘fun’ and ‘interesting’ in the War Zones….
That spider is an artist!
Our whole life is a web, if only we would weave it harmonically just like your friend spider does! 😉 Beautiful poem and image!
Yes, it’s the darndest thing!
Spider webs (fantastic shot Tim) can be absolutely stunning, alluring, like many things in life.
However, once close up and entangled… not so good.
Excellent Timku!
So, your email with the guitars turned into a 20 minute guitar lesson, last night and 7 minuted this morning. My head is spinning. I did my best to pass on all of N’s notes (pardon pun)
I hope my email makes sense! (He loves the Ibanez!)
Thanks, Resa. I didn’t mean for you to get a schooling in modified guitar playing, but I really appreciate Norm taking the time to offer excellent advice.
Love the poem/photo combination, Tim. You reminded me of Janis Joplin’s:
“Freedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to lose
Nothin’, it ain’t nothin’ honey, if it ain’t free
And feelin’ good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues
You know feelin’ good was good enough for me
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee
Those were amazing times/songs, almost a foreshadowing of where we are. As Marina said, “If we would weave it harmonically just like your friend spider does!” And you do that very well.
Thanks, Rebecca. Those were good words. It’s amazing how prophetic some of those protest songs were, and how prophetic Marina’s dad’s sketches from the same time are. Apocalyptic literature of old used current events and then claimed authorship from hundreds of years earlier to make it seem prophetic. In the examples of Joplin and Marina’s dad, they wrote and sketched about current events, and now their words and sketches are truly prophetic.
A very fitting post – can’t count the number of times I’ve been the first person on the trails and have to run through the webs – by the time I clear myself of the strings, the next one will hit me right in the face…what’s the old Far Side joke, if we pull this off we’ll eat like kings!
Fabulous photo, Timothy, and your words are so true. I feel as though I’ve been trying to break free of my web for a long time. It’s only now I’m starting to break free and to live life to the full.
Fortunate to get a web in the wild.
A wild wild web. Thanks, David.
Oh wow! A work of art! Nice capture.
Thanks, Michele.
Too often.
I have blogged on this.
Sorry for perceived spam.
A thousand apologies.
I like to share.
Thanks, LA. That was a great spider story.
Your photo is marvelous, by the way.
I love it.
I love all things ‘spider’
I love spiders, also. My daughter has a few tarantulas.

Good story. Not many people appreciate my humor, either. Although, there are many very smart bloggers out there who get it.
This is a wonderful natural pattern in nature, wonderful. ♥️
Thanks, Amber.
Lol…a lot right now, except they no what you might call small. Lovely image and words
It’s so easy to get tangled up in all sizes. Thanks, Shey.

Those spiders never stop trying. I love that Farside. Thanks, Brian.
A beautiful web…they seem to be like snowflakes—no two the same.
Thanks, KT.
