In an exchange of comments about Silver and Sasha, I told Resa that Silver is a bully. She asked if he bullied Spunk. The boy kitties bully each other but it’s all play, sparing and wrestling, nothing serious. However, when it comes to the girl kitties, Silver, Spunk and Loki bully and beat up on the girls. I mentioned that Lola got a nick in her ear recently, which I assume was Silver or Spunk bullying her, but I really don’t know who nicked her ear. Resa asked to see Lola’s nicked ear.
Lola’s nicked ear made me think of our old Tom cat Nick, who came to us around 2001. He tested positive for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), but he was such a sweet kitty, and had such an interesting personality, we had to keep him. He was a wonderful addition to our family, and showed no signs of illness until fall of 2007. He went down hill quickly and died around the beginning of November 2007.

Lola is gorgeous. There’s something extra sweet about those girl kitties. And I know you must miss Nick, he was quite a grand fella!
Hi Leah. Lola is a bit like Nick with a cranky edge to her. Nick had a super loud purr. Now that Lola has learned to purr (she was raised with dogs before we got her, and we’ve had to teach her how to be a cat), she is cranking up the volume on her purring. We’ll wake up in the night, and she’s laying on me purring away.
Bella Lola ❤
Grazie, Simona. Shes sends kitty hugs, kitty kisses, and loud purrs.
“I love cats because I enjoy my home; and little by little, they become its visible soul.” ― Jean Cocteau.
Thanks, Cindy.
Lola and Nick remind me of Lady and Cyril. Always miss them. But Silver sneaks into my dream to cheer me up! TTFN
Silver’s a good kitty. We always miss Nick. Thanks, Inchcock.
They are all beautiful kitties, Tim. I love old Nick. He looks almost Yoda-like with those ears.
Kitties can be rough with each other. I think it was Nod (an aspiring alpha female) who bit or scratched Nano at the base of his tail recently, giving him an abscess that needed draining and treatment with antibiotics.
Hi Lavinia. Fortunately, we haven’t had abscesses lately.
It looks like Nick saw some scuffles in his day! Bless you for taking care of so many kitties! I have cared for more than my share, at one time I had 33 cats, I know.
You might have qualified as a crazy cat lady at that time in your life. Thanks, Tiffany.
We’ve been fortunate not have any kitty fights or kitty bullying. The Musketeers would occasionally have a dust-up among themselves, but it usually occurred when they were yowling at an outdoor cat passerby. One would get too close, then tuxedo fur would fly. One time, Egypt was watching Maxie who was yowling at another outdoor passerby. He made the mistake of batting at Egypt who was close by. She, being the alpha cat (top cat, #1 cat), cuffed Maxie with one bat, claws fully extended. It was enough to settle down Maxie. It was also an object lesson to the others.
High David. These are the first kitties that we have bullies. It’s funny how the boys cats have their boy’s club, and the girl kitties fend for themselves.
Lola❤️
Thanks, Nancy.
😊
I really like your blog. A pleasure to come stroll on your pages. A great discovery and very interesting blog. I’ll come back to visit you. Do not hesitate to visit my universe. See you soon
Thanks, Angelilie.
Oh that Nick was such a handsome boy Tim! What a wonderful face ..
He was a real character. Thanks, Julie.
Those boy bullies! Lola is so sweet, and the nick is not too, bad.
Nick looks a bit like Lola.
I had a very sweet boy kitty, Cabbage. He wouldn’t let any other cats near me.
He died of FIV. I know how fast they go downhill, at the end. It broke my heart.
He’s been gone over 20 years, but I still miss him.
Cats really get under my skin…. then worm their way to my heart.
We miss all our kitties that have passed on. They do really make their ways into our hearts. Thanks, Resa.
