Spanish Chocolate

Laurie used the directions and proportions on the wrapper from a Tres Tazas bar to make her own recipe for what comes out to about 2 gallons of Spanish Chocolate.

We had our annual Spanish Chocolate party to celebrate Reyes (Three Kings / Epiphany) last night.

When the party was over, the cured meats were gone, most of the chocolate was eaten, and  half a plate of queso Manchego was left over.

  1. It was a wonderful evening, not only full of wonderful food, but also – not surprisingly – some really interesting people, some of whom I not yet met 🙂 My mom and I thank you and Laurie for the evening.
(PS – I must play with the video capabilities of my camera!)

  2. Tim, I don’t know how you find the time to do such a professional, detailed photo post every day.
I think I’ve learned more about New Mexico’s traditions from reading your posts these past few months than I did in five years of living there!
I hope all of ya’ll are enjoying the satisfaction of a successful gathering. Hugs!

  3. That looks like a wonderful party! Will have to look up that chocolate recipe. A plate of cheese left and Spunk looking up…in our house that would be a cat calculating amount of thrust needed to achieve vertical lift off to reach that plate of cheese. 🙂

  4. I’ve never had Spanish chocolate, but I’ve never met a chocolate I didn’t like! Spunk is great – I’m glad you included him in the series of photos.

  5. Mmmm… everything looks so very good! I’m glad that you celebrate Tres Reyes Magos feast. Spunk looks like he had a great time.
