The Cat Before The Storm

IMG_0175

I seem to get constant kitty help these days. I walked out of the store to discover a small super cell was forming overhead. I drove straight into the storm and got a great lightning show on the way home. For all the lightning and thunder over the past 24 hours, we only received 2/10 of an inch of rain.

  1. Wow. What time did you take the supercell image? I was out for quite awhile tonight, because there was clearly so much going on everywhere in the sky. I did not get any good images, but around 6:21 there were some unusual things looking in your direction, and I’m wondering if we could have been seeing the flip side of the same thing (it did not look like a supercell from here, but the light was interesting).

    • I took the photos that I stitched together at 6:28, 7 minutes after you were seeing the storm from the other side of the city north of where I took the photo — I was at Coors and I-40.

      • We could have been seeing really different views of the same thing. I quit photographing when the light played out in terms of the reds. It was a very active sky tonight, and you got a fabulous image!

        • Rosencrantz is Guildenstern’s bother. We also had Puck, but he disappeared in August. Our neighbors black cat comes by often and we call him Osric, which was much more fitting than Panther. I have lots of photos of these cats on my blog. They are all characters.
