A golden sunrise

With the exception of the golden sunrise, this post has All Beavers & Cats.

Don’t look now, Bertha, but there is a stupid paparazzo over there on the other side of the river voyeurizing us.

Avocados, Tomatoes, Loki

Three beavers, two snuggling, on the river bank at dusk.

Spunk thinks he is cuter than any stinking beaver.

Wynona grooming on the bank at dusk.

Many Faces of Silver with Avocados and Tomatoes.

Spunk Dreams

Morning sky. White hot flames.

There were six beavers on the other side of the bank, eating, grooming, and lounging around. It was dusk, so it was too dark to see them in the above photo. We could see them clearly with binoculars.

Spunk dreams

We had thunderstorms roll through this afternoon. We got 4/100 of an inch of rain. The temperature dropped from 92ºF (33.3ºC) to 68ºF (20ºC) in a matter of minutes.

OO NO B

Sandias @ Sunset

Osric Owl would not open his eyes for me at first. He finally woke with a hoot and gave me a “Stupid Paparazzo! And spell my name right!” look.

Nora Owl was looking sleepy also. That’s an indication the owlets might have hatched.

You Beavers Lighting Up Our Lives

Got lighting? There was six beaver in the river at Beaver Point tonight.

Jupiter’s moons were in a formation I had not seen before. When I looked at the image on my camera’s screen at 5:00 am I thought I was moving the camera and getting a double image of the moons, but since Jupiter is round, the moons were really sitting side by side.

The moon through a thin layer of clouds.

When Wet It’s Roses

No sunset, no moon, I couldn’t check on the owls. Rain, much needed rain, kept me inside to post photos of roses. The first Dr. Huey in the above photo. Julie’s giant Dr. Huey is only thinking about blooming. After it blooms we will have our 7th annual Dr. Huey tour.

Fourth of July with a Grasshopperlette.

I posted this one last week when it only had 5 roses in bloom.

Bazzoka’s first beavers. It was dark so they are not super clear. the one on the right looks like a bear.

Bazooka’s first swallow. Swallow are faster and more erratic flyers than bats.

Beaver Dam Breaker

The beaver dam breaker lurking around the corner.

The Conservancy has been at it again, breaking up and pulling the beaver dams out of the clearwater ditch with their evil Beaver Dam Breaker.

Below is a short video a did last night of a beaver sliding into the Rio Grande after cutting some willows to snack on along the river bank. We saw four beavers last night and six beavers the night before last.
