Gray Matters

I walked out to the river at dusk to see if I could get the moonrise. Only gray clouds from the approaching storm.

Demons and dragons closing in on Resa’s tree.

I woke up a 3:30 am, walked outside, and shot the moon as it slipped through the clouds before disappearing behind the trees.

A tree held onto the moon after it slipped through the clouds.

Mars, Jupiter, and Venus at 3:48 am.

Old Adobe

OldHouse

This is one of the old adobes on Corrales Road that I’ve been documenting for the past couple of years. This abandoned adobe house might be considered historic, so the owner may not be able to tear it down, and may be letting it deteriorate to the point it will fall down on it’s own, but that’s all speculation on my part. The north wall caved in a couple of years ago — you can see the north side of this house on my blog post from August 9, 2013 at http://photoofthedayetc.com/2013/08/09/old-adobes/.

Adobe Sculpture

Another garden on the Corrales Garden Tour had adobe sculpture in various states of dissolution. Adobe sculpture is a little like longer lasting sand paintings, but instead of erasing them at sundown, the adobe sculptures slowly erode back into the earth.
