A Little New… A Little Old…

Under the scrub brush
Bashful bosque bunny hides
Peek! Boo! I see you!

While I was looking for some old photos for Tristan, I came across three of the weird sign photos I took when I was studying Geography and Photography at the university.

Me driving a tractor before I learned to walk

When I tell people I learned to drive before I learned to walk, they think I’m bat guano crazy and full of kitty kaka.

  1. Bosque Bunny finds cover for the night while that old moon shines bright.

The old signs brought a good laugh, Tim, especially the first one. You have a good eye!

The picture of you as a youngster is great, too. You look very determined there.

  2. My wife can somewhat relate..growing up in Iowa she learned to drive on the relative farms long before the official age..she was walking though so you one-upped her ha.

  3. What a wonderful collection of images. Tim! The moon, the rabbit hiding in the underbrush and that lake reflecting the colours of sunset all feel like small invitations to pause and notice the world. Then the old signs made me smile. An emergency room next to a French mortuary, or a pawn shop beside a law office. They tell their own stories. And I loved the picture of you on the tractor. I love looking at old photos. They give me a sense of time and place!!

    • Thanks, Rebecca. The bail bonds promising to get you out of jail if it takes ten years always cracked me up. The pawn shop buying and selling law offices is rich. Signs can be so much fun. The bunny really blends in. It was amazing I saw him. Jake didn’t notice him until I bent down to get the low shot.

    • No stinking training wheels for me. My brother and sister pushed me on my mom’s “girl’s” bike because, even though I was tall for my age, a Huffy was too big for me. I would wobble around trying to pedal and crash. I would get up, and they pushed me again and again, until I could balance the bike and pedal. I learned to swim after they threw me in the ditch, and laughed while I flailed around a bit, but I was soon looking like a gator in the water. I loved to swim when I was young. I hate getting wet in my old age.

  4. Tim! You haven’t changed a bit. You’ve changed a lot. Still cute as a button, though.

Hilarious signage. Still chuckling. Thanks Tim!
