Only Mothers Left To Grieve

After reading a short piece about Russian soldiers riding motorcycles toward the Ukrainian forces, running over mines, getting shot by drones, and Ukrainian soldiers, I wrote a song and made the above music video about it.

Spunk is shocked

  1. Captivating in every way, Tim. A strong poignant message excellently expressed. Great production, from words to the tune, to the video imagery.

    With you, Spunk!

  2. The situation is so desperate and deteriorating in many places in the world. It often makes me feel so depressed. Theoretically, the solution is simple but there are to many idiots to deal with…

  3. I love this portrait of Spunk.
Tim, the video is outstanding. I wondered about the motorcycles, because I had not heard about the Russians doing that. Wow… History just keeps on repeating its horrors. I know that. But I can’t help thinking that the world has never before been quite as absurd or had quite as much flagrant disregard for life. Hugs.

  4. War sucks!

Spunkie-Poo 💋 is right to be shocked.

Thanks for the protest song! There’s a lack of those these days.

  5. Excellent song and video Tim, you are really getting the hang of that AI stuff! The topic is a sad one, no matter what country is fighting, only the innocent suffer.

  6. Tim, this is a powerful, poignant response to an unspeakable reality. Art like yours holds space for reflection when words alone falter. Thank you for transforming such heartbreaking imagery into a song that helps us feel—and remember—that behind every story of war are human lives and silent grief. Your music video is a haunting tribute, a reminder of our shared fragility.

    • Thanks for you thoughtful, wonderful comment, Rebecca. It’s so easy to forget what a waste war is.

  7. Another great merging of music and AI. Betting the Russian solders were thrilled when the 10K NK solders came over and became the new frontline cannon fodder. Just an fyi, the title in the intro of the video has “grieve” misspelled)

    • Thanks for catching the misspelling. It will have to stay. One thing that really bothers me about YouTube is that you can’t replace videos. You have to delete one and upload a new one and lose all your views, likes, comments, etc. It hardly matters since my videos don’t get many views.

      • I completely understand, I know why they do that as it prevents someone from replacing a video that I “liked’ with one I don’t want to be associated with, but having to lose the previous likes and views is harsh as well..double edged sword
