I especially love that first photo. The scene almost looks like something out of Japanese art, the balloon a paper lantern hanging from the limbs of that unusual tree. It is a very beautiful image. Is that tree a cottonwood?
There are a lot of hot air balloons out here. Therefore, it’s not uncommon to see balloons flying by early in the morning.
I’ve been involved with balloons one way or another since I was 15 and helped with the first Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. The first one was small. It has grown over the past 52 years. The AIBF holds the world record for an event having over 1,000 balloons in the air at the same time.
Albuquerque is a popular location for ballooning because we have air patterns called “The Box” where the wind changes direction every 100 feet so the balloonists can navigate their balloons by changing altitude.
If you go to any October in my blog, you can see a lot of balloon photos. Thanks, DR.
Too early for balloonfest – these must be getting an early start – coming out of Phoenix to Vegas we were hit with 40+mph gusts of wind that about toppled the RV – hate to think what that would do to one of those balloons.
Awesome image Tim! I love the glowing colors in the balloon, contrasted with the sky and clouds.
Thanks, Brad.

Thanks, Lavinia. The first photo is Resa’s cottonwood. The second photo is a cottonwood between the ditches on our property.
I was wondering if that might be Resa’s tree.
I never tire of seeing the balloons, Tim. The first shot is beautifully framed. Hugs.
Thanks, Teagan.
These are some of your best, Tim! Glowing colors. Love! 💗
Thanks, Cindy.
Oh Timothy, these are beautiful.
Thanks, Shey.
That first balloon looks like it is tangled in the tree. Very cool shot!
Happy First Day of Spring!🌸
Happy Spring! Thanks, Nancy.
Cool shot!
Thanks, Teri.
Some background, please.
You just randomly spotted a hot air balloon in your backyard? I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of these in my life.

They try not to fly in windy condition. Thanks, Brian.
