John is right, it is unfortunately everywhere. You have a sharp eye and a poet’s heart for catching all aspects of life, from the most beautiful and inspiring to the dark side of human existence.
I can’t help seeing this image without imagining the individual behind the needle! Then I think that this is happening in cities all over the world…so many people trying to anaesthetise themselves…… Have a fantastic weekend. 🙂
makes me to think, who’s protecting children of substance abusers. they are a population without a clear lobby. and ending up being orphaned by both sides (parents/community), too often.
Like one of your other commentors I have to say I see this and weave a story about the person who dropped it. It may be someone with a substance abuse problem but it could also have belonged to a diabetic. But the syringe itself is such a powerful image of sickness. Body and soul.
