Portrait of a Young Woman

The flash didn’t fire when I did these photos, leaving the image files almost completely black. I pulled up the exposure and made various other adjustments in Photoshop and came out with surprisingly nice images. There is a hint of green in the hair from the under exposed image, otherwise the color came out well. This is one of the advantages to a full-frame sensor.

  1. I’m sure you’d rather not hear my–virtual–voice anymore. But I have to say–That is amazingly tender & lovely—And so evocative of being that age that it’s startling.

  2. It always amazes me how an error, like the flash not working, ends up in the becoming something magical. Great shots!

  3. OK, now I have to buy a full frame sensor, or be more careful with my settings. These are amazing, especially when told they were under exposed. But isn’t there a way to get rid of the green in her hair? Not that it bothers me at all!

    • Yes I can remove the green in her hair, but it didn’t bother me and it went with her green eyes, so I left it. If she decides she wants to use the portraits for anything, I’ll clean them up a little more.
