They are tussling. Spunk mauls Rosencrantz, and Rosencrantz is really good about it. He tries to hold Spunk down and lick him, and then spars with him when licking fails.
Our three boy cats can really rock the place with their tussling and sparring, usually from 4 to 7 AM. The girl cats prefer to sleep in, although sometimes Hope gives her brother Marcus a good workout.
We’re getting Spunk trained to sleep with us and the other kitties during the night. Before bedtime he’s all wild and then starting about 6 am he gets rambunctious again. When we start getting wild in the night, we scratch his head softly and he settles down.
