Fantastic photos, the second from bottom, the fly seems to be smiling. These little flies are gentle creatures, they landed all over me as a kid growing up on the lake. Awesome memories.
Beautiful photographs, Timothy. Love the closeup shots. We get a lot of bumblebees here in our blueberry patch in spring, though I don’t see so many dragonflies here on the farm as I did back east.
Thanks! You just never know what you might find in our fridge or freezers. Did you ever see David Byrne’s movie “True Stories” about celebrating the sesquicentennial anniversary of Texas? In it a crazy woman tells about brushing her teeth while looking at her tail she kept in a jar in the medicine cabinet between the 4-way nasal spray and the monkey blood. I could say something similar about looking for food in our refrigerator.
Of course I did! I’m a big Byrne/TH fan since forever and I had totally forgotten about that. Disturbing in the most artistic way! lol! May your shutter always be ready!

Thanks, John. Dragonflies are such interesting insects. I’m waiting for the black, yellow and blue ones to show up.
All the photos today are fantastic. I love the very close up views. Thanks for sharing them, Tim.
Thanks, Juanita!
