All of our kitties, with the exception of Diné, made at least one attempt to go out in the snow. Rosencrantz was the most rambunctious snow kitty, making several laps around the house throughout the day, running wild, and kicking up snow with his kitty heels. Guildenstern made it to the edge of the steps before making a u-turn and coming back inside. Mama Manx got to the bottom of the steps before she decided to come back up the steps and bring a few snow flakes inside.

In Kansas City we had a part Basenji (dog) who *loved* to romp in the snow. Later, here, we had Zaire, and she would not go out until I got a snow shovel and cleared a path for her!
(My current cat is an indoor cat).
Animals and their unique little personalities are so much fun!
As our kitties are getting older they are more reluctant to go out in the cold. A few years ago they were all out playing in the snow.
lovely~
Thanks, Cindy!
My favorite is the top photo…and great names for those kitties. 🙂
We name all our black cats Shakespeare names. Although, we are down to two Shakespeare cats as Puck disappeared in August. Mama Manx got her name, because she had a broken leg when we got her (probably hit by a car) and had a kitten with her (Stretch who died of renal failure in the Spring), so when we took her to get her leg fixed, the easiest name to come up with at the time was Mama Manx.
Shakespeare names…that’s great. 🙂
Brrrr, that looks cold! Especially like your first shot..great contrast with the black fur against the snow!
It’s not super cold, but cold and wet enough that the kitties stayed inside most of the day.
We still have no snow…
Enjoy it while you can!
I don’t like snow but I love these shots, (it must be the cats…). Beautiful!
Thanks, Herman! I not terribly fond of snow myself. I like it dry and sunny;-)
A purrrrrrfect post. Those cats are too cute!
Thanks, Juliette!
Love the kitty snow tales–especially describing the kitty “kicking up snow with his kitty heels.” Our cats don’t want to venture out when it’s the least bit cold. Great pictures.
Thanks!
