Austrian Copper put on its first bloom yesterday. We had hard frost the past few nights, so some of the older tulips are showing cold damage. The purple parrot tulips finally bloomed, despite hanging their heads from the cold the past few mornings; and a hummingbird moth was making the rounds when I was out photographing the tulips.

Those purple parrot tulips are beautiful. And I love the one with the moth!
We had hard freezes the last two nights also. My roses had 4-5″ shoots of new growth, and that is going to have to be cut off. So much for April 15 as the latest frost-free date this year!
Thanks, Susan. We have to wait until the middle of June to guarantee we are past the last day of killing frost.
Wow! These are really great photos!!! Love them!
The purple parrot tulips display your favorite colour;• )
Yes, they sure do!!! And, I love tulips as well… 😉
Those are beautiful. You have the shadowing down perfect.
Thanks, Becca! It’s that late afternoon sun again;• )
Yes, the purple parrot tulips are the stars of the show today. I also like the Austrian Copper photo. Our roses took a hit with two nights of below freezing temps. I hope they will not have another one before they are strong enough to tough it out.
